WWE has seen it's fair share of crazy gimmicks but many fans don't realize that some of their favorite current WWE Wrestlers actually almost were given gimmicks that were completely different than the gimmicks that they portray today. In this Top 10 I countdown the wrestlers who had gimmicks that were cancelled before arriving to the WWE main roster.

The crazy fan girl gimmick has already been done. It was done from late 2005 to mid 2006 by MIckie James playing a crazy fan obsessed with Trish Stratus. That gimmick faded away after less than a year and WWE concentrated on Mickie's wrestling ability.

Julio Delahoya In case you haven't or refused to realized, Roman is not the only "superpushed" wrestler. Seth when he's champion, even some right now; Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, and most of all Brock Lesnar, who never lost a match where's he's the one getting pinned or submit. Hell, even the chickenshit Miz is getting overpushed as a midcard. He got no stories but always gets a title in the midcard section, which he don't deserve.

Cena has stated on multiple occasions that he would play the heel role again, just that WWE creative keep shooting down the idea. So don't put that on him. Blame the creative team that don't seem to know jack shit about the pro-wrestling business. Roman too for that matter. He is already playing the heel role without being labeled as one, because Vince is dead set on trying to get him over as a face.

The Dawson & Bliss and Paige ones were just at WWE's promo class. They did numerous skits and stuff like that there. It was just basically an improv class for them to try stuff. It wasn't ever a "gimmick", it just was them trying stuff and never got past that stage.

Undertaker was offered a choice between 'Wild West Mortician' (the gimmick we know and love) and Viking. He chose the former and ran with it, which might explain why The Berserker was always trying to kill him. As for Mark being in the egg, his debut Survivor Series match was against The Hart's with Dusty Rhodes and Coco B Ware the day before someone in the Hart family died, one of Bret's uncles I think, and there was a thought that The Undertaker would be insensitive, and there was talk of Hector Gurrero replacing him. However Bret didn't want the change so 'taker debuted.

Cause over the years and especially in the last 1-2 where wrestling lists became more popular, the trivia about this changed a lot. At first it was about how Hector Guerrero was the gooker, then it added that the undertaker debut on the same show, then it evolved into hypothetical questions, rumors and now people say it was planned. To me this kinda sounds like the story evolves the more it gets covered

Dude, please take a few seconds longer and enunciate your words. You say "WWE" 26 times in this video (I went back and counted) and every time you mash it together and pronounce it as "DubiaDubYee". Also, you don't need to say "WWE" every time; the title of the video is "10 Cancelled Gimmicks of WWE Wrestlers" so we know what company you're talking about. You can say words/phrases like "the promotion", "they", "the company", "creative", etc otherwise you're just repeating the same word over and over ad nauseum. To make it worse, you stress the last word/syllable of almost every single sentence. It gives your speech a very unnatural feel makes it very difficult to listen to your videos. I respect what you're trying to do by bringing us information and entertainment, but I'd suggest maybe taking a Public Speaking class at your local community college or something because the way these are done is very off-putting and you're probably driving more people away that watch your videos than attracting them even though you've got some interesting subjects and information. I've heard plenty more such as: Maryse was supposed to be a lesbian, I've hear a rumor that Brock Lesnar was supposed to play a gay character, still the powerhouse just gay (but all sides involved have denied it), Jercho has said he believes The Goon was intended for him, A gimmick was pitched for a Nazi who was cryogenically frozen and suddenly unfrozen it's believed it was intended for Heidenreich. Bret Hart was originally supposed to have a cowboy gimmick: Bobby "the heartthrob" Hart. He worked one match under the gimmick and then told the brass he didn't want that gimmick anymore stating "Where I come from, if you're going to play a cowboy, You'd better really be a cowboy"

Paige's is definitely iffy. Alexa's might be as well. Even back to the first Tough Enough, WWE has filmed segments for what basically amounts to improv class. They're given something generally silly and/or out of their comfort zone to see how they handle it. It's a way to see who takes themselves too seriously and who realizes it's just a show.
