We were honoured to welcome H. E. Mr Miguel Berger, German Ambassador to the United Kingdom to Wrightbus, along with Anne-Katrin Finger Harries, Political Counsellor at the German Embassy. The Ambassador met with CEO Jean-Marc Gales to gain insight into Wrightbus’s important mission and growth journey.
It was a privilege to share with Mr Berger our latest advances in zero emission technologies, taking an in-depth look at the production of our left and right hand drive battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell buses, and also to discuss our continued growth, growing teams and increasing orders as we continue to expand across Europe. Here he shares his thoughts following his tour of the factory.
The Ambassador’s visit follows yesterday’s meeting between UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz who discussed cooperation in energy and renewables and agreed on a feasibility study for hydrogen exports from the UK to Germany, and our own announcement of the milestone deal to provide 46 Wrightbus Kite Hydroliner hydrogen buses to Germany, ordered by Cottbusverkehr GmbH.
We would like to thank the Ambassador for his visit today and his valuable insights into the future of hydrogen trade exports, infrastructure and transport across Germany and beyond.
