Baobab is a superfood! It has a tangy, citrusy flavor. The pods dry while they are on the tree, drop to the ground, and when you crack it open you can crush it into a powder. It has some of the most antioxidants of any food!! I add it to my water or lemonade, etc and its soooo tasty. I bet it was good in that butter.

The flamingos are over the other side of the pool. Go past the playground and you’ll find them. Can also see the Savanah back there on the left

I love Jiko! And the butter is goat cheese butter which I think is why you’re saying it’s sour… soooo good. But I love goat cheese.

My server let me know it was bayobob fruit butter. I love goat cheese so a goat cheese butter would be amazing but I would def be able to tell it was goat cheese & not a sour fruit 😅

We ate at Jiko and it wasn't just a fluke. I had the same reaction as you to the fillet and mac and cheese. I think we would have been better off getting anything else on the menu.

My favorite restaurant on Disney property is Narcoossee. The Almond cheesecake alone, but everything else is delicious too and the view is priceless, especially at fireworks time.

Thanks for the honest review. I'm thinking when meat has that hamburger taste it's when it's stayed in the fridge too long, that leftover meat taste. It woukd be hard to go there when Boma is a stone's throw away.

The flamingos are over on the other side of the pool, there are no animals outside the restaurant. I agree with your review though, I ate there in November and the bread was the best part. Just go to Boma next door, cheaper and better

Went in December and loved the Filet and mac&cheese! Also liked the Duck Flatbread but disappointed by the Chicken entree.

You HAVVVVVE to get the boar tenderloin!!!! It’s what keeps me coming back to this restaurant - we typically do this as our entrees (and Michael - he’s wonderful)

If you can go off property, try Bull and Bear restaurant at Wardolf hotel. We went there for our 30th wedding anniversary last year and it was phenomenal. We used to go to Jiko’s several times, but it was always a hit or Miss, not consistently good.

Short ribs or the lamb is good but I think there’s African spices on most things which can make them taste different than you are used to.

I ate at Jiko for the first time about a year ago. I had such high hopes after hearing so many great things about it. Sadly, it did not deliver. Things started well with the boar appetizer which was amazing. But my experience with the filet was exactly the same as yours. The beef itself was not a good quality cut. I can get far better from our local butcher. It certainly did not warrant the $59 price tag. It was not tender and had zero taste beyond the sauce (which I did enjoy). I would have liked more sauce, but my server did not return to the table until it was time for the check. The service was not anywhere near what we've experienced at other signature restaurants. Heck, I've had far better service at Applebees. The mac and cheese was fine. I make better myself and there is much better to be had on property - I'm looking at you Chef Art Smith! Overall, I have no real desire to rush back there. Maybe if I'm with a group that really wants to go. Though like you, I'll probably just stick with the appetizers.

Hi I’m new to your videos. I’m curious on Disney property the Swan and dolphin are Disney properties. Have you ever went to any of the restaurants at the Swan & dolphin or the Swan reserve? Should Shula’s steakhouse 🤷🏽‍♂️ be on that list? Or do you not go to any of the restaurants at this Swan and dolphin even though it’s on the boardwalk? It’s just a question. These hotels are all considered deluxe resorts, on Disney properties. There’s a lot of other restaurants for Disney resorts that are not Disney run Resorts. Four seasons, Walt Disney World, Swan & dolphin resort and Waldorf, Astoria, Orlando. Waldorf of Astoria has 12 restaurants/lounges. The Swan and dolphin have 23 restaurants//lounges . The Swan reserve has another 18 restaurant/lounges. Thank you, I really enjoyed your content.

I haven’t made it over to any of the Swan & Dolphin or Four Seasons restaurants yet. Not because I don’t want to, but just because there are so many restaurants & foods to cover at WDW that I just haven’t had the time to go review them yet. In time I’ll def review some of them!

A disappointing review for Jiko. The filet looked perfectly cooked but if the flavor is indistinguishable from a hamburger patty they need to find a better supplier for their meat. I love your idea of appetizers and dessert though. 👍🏻

I was so surprised because it gets so much praise! Apps & desserts were fantastic though. I’ll def be back for dinner again because I truly believe the steak was just off for the night. First time I’ve ever had something I didn’t love there!

After what you've been thru lately with Disney and their steaks, I would reason they have had to change to a different meat distributor because they're going broke. Obviously, they're not buying high quality meat anymore. But haven't adjusted their prices accordingly. A filet should NEVER taste like a burger. You Can buy filet mignon burgers, I guess they grind up filet that didn't sell yesterday. And they are better quality than other burgers. But not the other way around. Sour butter made me think of a spoiled taste. I hope you take plenty of Rolaids with you!!! Lol. You are a real trooper. Lately the food has been awful. Taking one for the team! 👍

Thank you for the honestly! We went to Jiko for our 20th anniversary on the suggestion from many podcasters and we were so disappointed! The steak was dry and we really didn’t like the flavor. For what we paid for this meal, we could have gone to Ruth’s Chris and had their amazing filet.

Went here a few weeks ago, it was absolutely awful. The steak had a terrible crust and was tough. The Mac and cheese tasted like Panera. And the service was the worst I've had at any restaurant, Disney or not. I advise skipping this place if you're on property. We tried most of the menu (party of 19) zero standouts.

Funny. I prefer Jiko over Boma. I am not sure about Toledo, but the beef at Jiko is grass fed. It definitely has a different flavor than “conventional “ beef and can be off putting if you are not used to it.
