I first decoupaged 25 years ago with mod podge or some other medium. I haven’t tried the iron in method yet and had never heard of doing it with a glue stick. Definitely on the list to try. it's definitely my number 2 way that i'll do it from now on! the reason i like iron on is that i can reposition it if needed with no fuss or muss. but now that i've tried the glue stick.... it's an awesome technique for sure.

I usually do the heat press method- but I forgot the glue stick method!! It would really work when you have a difficult surface. Great demos! ❤❤ Love the hair cut as well! 😊

Thanks so much for sharing the different techniques! I plan on doing a couple decoupage projects for fall, so I need as much help as possible! I do like the reverse transfer. I have an ink jet, but it still works. However, I do let the printout set for a few days.

I have also used the iron-on method (my favorite) on foam board, but use card stock for my print. Yes, have tried the water method, not a favorite of mine.

I usually decoupage at least one thing on my tiered tray. I use the just mod podge or the iron on method. It depends on what the item is and how handy my iron is. LOL! 🤪

I missed it if you said where you found your small wooden birds that you decopaged? My favorite decoupage method is the iron on method because it comes out so well every time unless u forget to remove one of your napkins layers lol.

i made them! i just drew out a bird shape then cut it out. and yes....i've forgotten to remove the extra layers and i was like awww that stinks. 😂 the iron on will forever be my favorite because you can easily position it and there are no wrinkles. the glue stick method is coming as a close second though!

I trim like you and then light with lighter, over sink. No sanding.
