Write a Postcrossing postcard with me 🇺🇸 First time trying this out🧃

I'm trying something new with Postcrossing this time and it's using recycled food packaging. Warning: you see a picture of a battered and fried fish (you no longer see the animal). When writing this card I came across a problem, but I found a way to fix it. I also tried to decorate the envelope with my stencils. Do you think it looks nice? I hope the recipient will like it!

Your card came out great! I love the envelope also. Decorated envelopes are always something special too. Sometimes when we roll with the punches, the outcome is even better than what we originally planned. It reminded me of a quote by Bob Ross, “As you know, we don’t make mistakes, we just have happy accidents.”

Ah yes, I love Bob Ross! Haha, thank you💜I've been having so much fun lately with adding some drawings on envelopes. I do think it really elevates an envelope, even when I use colourful or shiny envelopes. Usually I have already hit the weight limit so I can't really add more stickers or washi, so this is a nice way😊

Beautiful hadmade postcard and decoration as always. I keep some postcards made from food packages to send to people who like it. I usually write postcards right after I draw the addresses or the next day. 🙂

Sticky notes came to te rescue! I love the result, I love art and collage, so I'm pretty sure the recipient will love it as well. It turned out lovely ❤ I try to make the card as soon as I pull the address and send it the next day, but, you know, life happens. Once it took me 7 days to send a card, I just couldn't find the time I thought I was going to have to go to post office 🙃

Ah thank you 💜Yes they definitely saved me😅Yeah I get what you mean. Sometimes I have to take a few days before I can drop it in the mail too. Or I know that it will take a few days before the mailman will empty the mailbox. But that's ok. We have the intention of sending it asap and put care in what we send. That's the most important thing I think.

Everything u make is art. A bag u cut Into pieces and glue on a card. The only pen write on a food packend is a really small edding.

Haha I guess that is true! But I don't have the confidence to call my work 'art'. Oh I see, like an Edding 400?

@@stationerypanda edding 1800 we used for it. Or we glue something on the card. And Uniball is really Nice for it.

I think that it came out great! I would not have thought about the inside of the box having a coating on it, but once I saw that your pens wouldn't write on it then I remembered that they do that to try to help keep the contents fresher. You did great at working with the obstacles. I was so inspired that I actually added recycled food packaging to my profile. I can't wait to see what I might get!

Ah thank you! 💜I'm so glad I managed to fix it. As soon as it happened I was like "oh no, only now I remember that someone once told me they have a coating". I didn't have a permanent marker I could use either. For a second I thought I had to switch to a normal card, but the sticky notes saved me😅That is so awesome, I'm curious to see what you'll get! Now I better start saving more food packages so I can make you a card too🤗

Excellent! Your card and the envelope turned out great with the sticky note collage! It also perfectly matches her interests. ... My home language is Afrikaans (from South Africa) (Afrikaans originates from Dutch), and Afrikaans uses the word "lekker". I wonder if it is originally Dutch or originally Afrikaans. 🙂

Thank you😄I'm glad it turned out well. According to Wikipedia Lekkerbekje orginates from IJmuiden (in the Netherlands), but I think there are many types of cuisine that are similar from different countries. And also languages are influenced by each other all over the world. I do know Afrikaans and Dutch have similar words and Afrikaans also uses some words that are "old Dutch". It would be interesting to learn Afrikaans!😊Do you have a similar kind of fish dish in South Africa?
