Is this an a for beginners? If not any recommendations for a beginner?

Yes, this is an excellent one for beginners! The emphasis on story rather than arbitrary rules gives a great foundation :) Save the Cat is very approachable and modern, but I’d say the biggest downside is Synder’s tone and random declarations about things that must happen on X page. If you go into that one knowing that he’s got some good ideas but it’s not really as strict as he says, then that’s a solid one too -Alexie
