Well, I went straight to the guy who wrote and directed the film... and I still have NO idea what it was about!! 🤪

I watched this film recently and although I enjoyed it, I honestly never think deep when I try on clothing. It either fits or feels nice, otherwise I don't buy it. Although I do remember shopping in Meadowhall in the 90s with a friend who tried on a shirt. He looked good in it, but he didn't buy it. I asked why he put it back and he said it felt like it was full of pubic hair. i don't remember if I asked more. Just a fleeting memory. So, each to their own.

I feel like I dumbed down Peter Strickland's masterpiece there. And it IS a maserpiece. I genuinely wish I could write something like 'In Fabric.' I've only recently become familiar with the film, yet I've watched it six times. It's a film I wish I could have studied when I was a film student in the 1990s. Instead, I watch it as weary 40-odd-year-old, bobbing from job to job, looking for opportunity.

Really enjoyed this film. Anyone got some theories on the role of Clive and Stash?

For all the content this movie provides, I'm surprised I don't see more breakdown videos. Their characters make me really curious and so do the people of the shop!

Yes, the idea for this film did come many sources. I suggest one source was from an original 1960 Twilight Zone episode, “The After Hours” that featured Anne Francis. Dated though the effects to this episode and series may be, this particular episode can still work its dread today. In contrast, whilst Strickland’s film looks good fun, there is more David Cronenberg & David Lynch in it than Rod Serling.

Ha. That's exactly what I thought as well but he hasn't seen that episode. At least at that time.
