You two are cute together. I've almost finished my first novel, and I agree, if I knew everything that would be required to do this well, I would have never started. Luckily for me, I've been inspired and moved to tell the story I'm writing, which has kept me going through the steep learning curve. Thank you both for your playful help 🙏🏼

Yes, I can attest to this; the character knowing what's best for the story. I had a character insisting a certain piece of poetry be inserted earlier. I resisted, and I then had the image of us both tugging on the page till it was about to tear. I relented. And the story was better for it. My question is How does the character know the bigger picture that I have yet to discover? And, does the character not fear that I could orchestrate revenge through them having some nasty accident later on? But even in their foolishness they are wise and unselfish. For the sake of Story they prevail. The domains we enter have a worlds of their own. Mysterious, magical and sometimes frightening. Thank you for the wonderful chat. This format is great.

You mentioned assisting in locating an editor. What exactly will an editor assist with other than clean up your mess? Do they assist with actually getting the book published?

Useful advice, but: Coud you ladies behave a little less ticklish when you discuss literary matters? Also, it would be nice if you could lose the music soundtrack in the background. Very tough on those of us who live with hearing impairment.

We no longer use music in the background. It was a generational difference we had. Millenials seem to want music with everything. The baby boomer won out in the end. No music!
