In the beginning I just wanted to add some strings into my metal songs...five years later I mostly make cinematic music, and I've managed to get my hands on a hardware synth and terabytes of samples. Funny how things work out. Also, thumbs up for GGD. The combination of Matt and Nolly is drum magic.

The "non-gainy" amps, blended with hi tone amps, make a very meaty guitar sound.

Holy Crap! Soundiron! One of the only symphonic metal tutorials lol! No one wants to do it and you say its so easy XD! In truth though from some people, it is actually a little hard if you super epic and theatrical but you really don't need to. I like going super epic and theatrical though. Btw, would love to see that symphonic metal series. I'd like to see maybe composing the symphony, and more of a walkthrough? Maybe show some music theory if you know some? Btw I use your voices of rage! I don't regret buying it XD! You're going to laugh at this but I'm actually using this to make Miku Hatsune scream putting it through a vocoder and turning up the pitch in VOR. I was never satisfied with the Japanese metal artists that use vocaloid screams that sound like something in industrial aggro-tech so I improved it a little. So that library man, is getting used lol!

Sometimes to get the orchestra to sit within the context of a rock or metal mix it comes down to eqing the guitars, bass, and various other instruments outside of the orchestra to get them to sit in the mix. Make sure to high pass the guitars and bass and eq out any harsh frequencies that may be battling with the strings.
@MihaiSorohan

Not bad. The bass by itself sounded pretty fake, but in the mix, even just with the guitars was good.

What key is this in? What chords do you use? Almost no one mentions this, I wonder why...
@SoundironAudio
@SoundironAudio 3 жыл бұрын
When it comes to metal I don't write in specific keys unless it is a requirement. For me it's more of a feel or vibe I'm going for than a specific key. I've studied music theory on my own being self-taught, but I use it more for figuring out harmonies or use it when I need it. Harmonic minor and diminished tend to work well in metal, but that's not where it ends. - Craig

why did you go with the 8/4 time signature?
@SoundironAudio
@SoundironAudio 4 жыл бұрын
Sometimes I use 8/4 because I like the accents to be on the 1 of every 8 beats. It really depends on the music and It's more of a preference thing really. Thanks for watching!
