Super awesome, i've never been good enough at math to code a game engine but I'm trying to improve my math and geometry skills. Умница! Vulkan - это сила, успехов тебе в нелегком деле. Надеюсь, будут еще стримы После tokyospliff тоже загорелся раскурить API для 3д графики. Но я основное время занимаюсь бэкенд разработкой, на Си ощутимо медленно идет прогресс, попутно и язык осваиваю. Пришел к такой схеме, что сперва описываю прототип на Python и PyOpenGL (формирую абстракции, интерфейс к ним, упорядочиваю вызовы API), далее уже переношу на C те части системы, в которых уверен и которые обрели плюс-минус приличный вид. Пока доволен результатом, посмотрим, что из этого выйдет ☺

@@sudolovemebaby никак по другому не будет. ♂️Boys♂️ не позволят разрушить нашу крепость! А если серьёзнее; надеюсь девушек в IT и правда побольше будет (и не на HR позициях). Как человек, который всегда особо с девушками не общался (общих интересов нет) - чувствуется, что упускаю много интересного). Многие девушки думают, что технические направления не для них, и даже те, кто уже на техническом направлении; правда последние, возможно от того, что их 1-3 на всю большую группу; в моей группе, на удивиление, значительно больше было, чем обычно, целых 6)). Хотя, если человек сам по себе не глупый, то +- в любой сфере нужно просто побиться об стенку, побольше изучить, по больше практики - всё, и пол особо даже не важен (но, мужчина женщине это не докажет, если у последней просто безосновательные стереотипы; тут только женщина женщине может доказать).

2:22:40 cryengine is underrated. It has (had?) Some of the strongest physics out there. It had soft-body physics when it was not meta (do others even have soft-body physics? I dont know, not a game dev); but its weak point is that it has very weak implementation of parallel concurrency.

You better always use those validation layers. You will save a lot of time. You can just filter out unwanted messages by their id.

if you are interested in c++ libs, then stl is enough.... if you arre interested in all of them... glm for maths, assimp for models loading, stb for image loading... vulkan api for all graphics ...

@@JohnnyBravoV i graduated as an architect, somehow xD But during my education i was just learning code and how computers work, but i was also joining hackathons a lot, so probably they made a difference :)

@@sudolovemebaby that's actually amazing. I work as a Junior Web Dev and most of the time I have no idea whats going on. I know HTML CSS and JavaScript but all the other understanding of algorithms, how to approach a problem, networking, just goes over my head. I feel like I'm the type "0% skill, 100% effort" as all of this do not come easy for me. Could you please please give me any advice on how to have a better understanding of the overall fundamentals and theory necessary to be a better programmer? To understanding not only a programming language but everything else around it that is necessary to know as well? Any books? Courses? I'd immensely appreciate it if you could :)

@@JohnnyBravoV oh well, i was studying at school 42 for almost a year, i assume it is an international 'project' there were cool tasks which helped to develop some average understanding on what is going on in the computer. but i can't give any particular hints, just write code, select good tasks i guess...

@@JohnnyBravoV well, i started with c, and i can't say that i know c++ :D I am still trying to improve it, and depends on the task - eg when i suffer with resources in my engine i am pointing to the data structures in c++ and just learning/investigating relevant sources

@@sudolovemebaby да, все это вдохновляет конечно. Особенно, как щас моды делают на Cyberpunk. Там так все это выглядит, что не отличить от реальности. Смотришь и думаешь: "вот это тему люди делают, не то что я JSON'ы гоняю".
