I have gethed all I need to write the motivation letter, but my course masters in Sustainable Product creation, did not require motivation letter, they asked for a page of cover letter, detailed CV and letters of recommendation as an added option. A cover letter is usually used to gauge an applicant's skills, experience and background. It is more commonly used in job applications. It could also serve the same purpose as a motivation letter. From an academic point of view and concerning this admission, you still have to show the reason or motivation for choosing this course, so whatever title you call it, the content matters. If you are applying for a master's, you need a bachelor's degree certificate, not HND; however, if you are applying for a bachelor's degree program, all you need is a high school certificate. NOTE: More importantly, for a bachelor's degree programme application, you MUST first apply for recognition of your high school certificate with the Luxembourg Ministry of Education before completing the online application. How would you like me to reply on the word count for your motivation letter? How? I replied that most of the time, they will specify the number of pages depending on the programme you are applying for, and if it is not specified, then use your discretion and write your motivation letter. I cannot manufacture a word count that does not exist. You can also go ahead and write to the programme coordinator. Hi Nuel, impactful information. I am still in the process of admission to the Master in Molecular and Computational Biomedicine, In this video, you mentioned how basic computer programming languages would be a good skill set in this field. I do not have basic bioinformatics skills, but I have attended conferences and acquired training in genomics (Primer design, cDNA synthesis, PCR, Nucleic Acid extraction, sequence analysis, etc ) I can confidently defend this and fit it into my essay. I just have self-doubt as I know candidates would be highly competitive having both programming backgrounds. Is there an acceptance chance for me?

Doubt solve nothing. Programming skills are not the only relevant skills, hence whatever skills that you acquired which you believe will enhance your chances you need to add them. When I applied for that master's degree programme then it was known as Integrated systems biology, there were only 16 spaces but I was not deterred by that, I just took my time and produced a robust application with a strong motivation letter. So focus your energy on what you can control and worry less about what you can't control. All the best. Nuel.

Usually you should apply for a course where you have the necessary background, bachelors degree certificate is usually the primary degree of consideration for masters degree application. However, with your masters there may be a connection but bear in mind that the number of years for Bachelors is not the same for masters. Nevertheless, it worth giving a try. All the best. Nuel

Hi, (1) and (2). As an international student, you should have your certificate and transcripts ready before starting the online application. So, I will advise you to get your official transcripts from your school and your graduation certificate. Nevertheless, please email the University of Luxembourg admission office (SEVE) to ask if that is acceptable. But in my view, get all your documents in the proper form (3). You'll need to pay the application fee online if applicable, regardless of the card type; what's important is whether your card is enabled for international payment. Please contact your local bank for that. 4. Generally, you should not apply for a visa with a passport less than 6 months before the expiration date, so it may be wise to renew your passport.
