This is precisely why the art world is impoverished. The very dynamic of relationships that bases evaluation on the individual rather than the quality of the work has led to a gradual and inevitable diminution of the content of art itself. In a world where only the market can project value onto an object, art has become more of a financial instrument than a cultural field that should generate value and shift people's perspectives.
