Looks at a range of issues that need thinking about when writing up qualitative research. These include: getting started, free-writing, organization - chronological, thematic etc. - focus, drop files, getting feedback, details, tightening up, style, conclusions and editing. This was a lecture given to postgraduate (graduate) students at the University of Huddersfield as part of a course on Qualitative Data Analysis.
To learn more about social research methods you might be interested in this new, inexpensive, postgraduate, distance learning course: MSc Social Research and Evaluation. The course is delivered entirely via the Internet. sre.hud.ac.uk/

Im busy with the last stretch of my MA thesis. I feel like I’m supposed to be motivated to finish up but I feel pretty much the opposite. This really encouraged me. Thank you.

This honestly helped me find some motivation so much. I've been stuck on the same project all year and within the first 10 minutes of the video, I found myself already beginning to write again. Thank you!

That's what I was struggling with too, but when I started writing, things became clear. It wasn't clear from the first try but at least I had a model to review and to reflect upon.

Graham R Gibbs what do you mean by "ironing"? can you explain more about it? I'm not a native speaker.
@rollintroll
@rollintroll 9 жыл бұрын
andalanjawabarat It refers to the ironing of clothes but its a metaphor for a chore around the house that has to be done, but is usually delayed because it is usually uninteresting, yet necessary. Hope this helps.
