Thank you! When using edible marker, you want to make sure the base coat is fully dry (or you run the risk of the icing getting punctured). So for these, I let them dry overnight before moving on to the next step. I hope that helps!

While you're letting the first word dry, how do you store the icing in the bag so it doesn't dry out or get hard?
@TeachPCs3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing this tutorial! It was very helpful. I'm curious about the tipless bags (sold out) that you're using and share a link to in your comments. Do they have seams? Would you be able to recommend somewhere else I could find bags without seams? Thanks!

Thank you for your tutorial and detailed tips, however, there's something I'm not getting here... If you're tracing the letters on the paper, how do they come out on the cookie for you to outline and flood? 🤔
@SharilynsCookieStudio Жыл бұрын
Hi! When I'm using the edible marker, I'm tracing on top of the actual cookie. I use my projector (Kopykake) to project the image onto the cookie, and then I use my edible marker to trace the font on the cookie, and then I trace over the marker with icing. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Exactly what I needed! They look beautiful & so puffy! I thought I'd have to do pressure piping to get that effect. Your technique with the under-piping seems far more stable! Do you have a Pico projector you can do a video on? That would be amazing!!!

Is the flooding consistency you described as not settling unless you shake it only for your lettering or is this also your consistency for flooding entire cookies?
@SharilynsCookieStudio Жыл бұрын
Hi! Generally speaking, that's the consistency I flood my cookies with as well. I like a thicker flood so I usually have to coax it along with either my scribe tool or shake it a little bit. I hope that helps!
@sharalynnaef32724 жыл бұрын
Beautiful! As always! Have you talked about your projector already? I am wanting to get one, but I feel overwhelmed when trying to decide which one to get. 😊
@SharilynsCookieStudio4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Sharalyn! I use a Kopykake (it's linked in the description). I love it! There's really no tech involved (which is a plus for me); the downside is that it's pretty big, so you'll need somewhere to store it when not in use. It's the only projector I've ever used though so it's hard to compare!

@carinabelmontes4393 Жыл бұрын
Do you wait for the icing within the outline (the one with the outline consistency) to dry before you go in with the flood?
@SharilynsCookieStudio Жыл бұрын
Normally by the time I'm done outlining, it's crusted over enough that it's fine to go ahead and fill it in. It certainly doesn't hurt to wait longer though.. if it's barely crusted over you just have to be sure you don't disturb it. I've done that before and you can definitely mess it up if it's not fully dry!

@@lovestolaugh Hi! Yes, you can type out what you need and print at home (I always use my computer, not a phone, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference). Hi! I'll see if I can help. First, will you let me know what royal icing recipe you're using? I can definitely try to troubleshoot if you're using my icing recipe (kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWPJqHdpZbB_rq8). Let me know on that and we'll go from there!
