I think it's better to start with a blank project. I had a hard time reaching the starting point of this video.

Thanks for the video.... very helpful. Please is it possible to export data stored in excel into labview and run it on the hardware like a real time event?

Dear Vinita, do you have an exercise booklet for this course? I'm a Scientific Initiation student here in Brazil and I need to develop an FPGA application, using the cRIO9054 and some sensors and actuators, and I'm having difficulty finding a course that suits me. Thank you in advance!

Congraturations to your successful demonstration. It is good to know that you can use the FPGA hardware target as a real time ontroller: in your case, gain controls of 1 and -1. As a control engineer, I just wander if your target is fast enough to some control sound and vibration signals up to about 1 kHz. What is the sampling frequency inside the target? How high can you set?

Thanks for the question. I found another video on KZbin that Vineet did on "Measuring Loop Timing in LabVIEW FPGA" that you might be interested in. Most NI FPGA targets clock at 40 MHz. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5nZXqp7iq6XZqc A couple of other thoughts. 1.) The limiting factor on control rate could be the code + FPGA or the module timing. NI's sound and vibration modules that support IEPE/ICP excitation sample up to 102.4 kS/s/ch. 2.) Using one of NI's modules with a SAR converter, like the NI 9215, with an accelerometer + external amplifier that outputs a 0-10V signal may be better for control because these modules (SAR modules like the 9215) - can be clocked by the FPGA loop whereas the IEPE/ICP sound and vibration modules use an internal clock. I could see a path to either working for 1kHz, it just depends on what else is going on and the demands of the control system. Hope this helps.

@@brettb.5823 Thanks for your comment. I agree with your thoughts. By the way, I watched the video again and realized that Vineet demonstrated digital control, not analog control. Neverthess he could do the same with analog control.

How can I create a program where the voltage applied (or current) is constant while measuring current (or voltage) through time? We have an I-V tracer run by LAbView programming. I want to measure current (or current) through time while applying constant voltage (or current). But don't know the right program. Can I ask for help?

hello , I want to know that is it possible to connect labview to FPGA without RIO board?
@101picofarad4 жыл бұрын
No :) You must buy NI RIO (or PXI). But today NI says that LabView may export project as vivado project (for 7-series or newer xilinx chip). But i not see any alive engineer who use this.

Is labview available for free, also is there a Linux version available by any chance?

+FreeFlamingInfinite No, they're not free. I wish they make it free for student and hobbyist. That way, it'll increase the adoption rate.
