I know what you mean when you mention the disappointing heist option. Being a New York city bank I really wished there was a bigger reaction when you go loud. Why, when I break into the vault and open fire on security, is there no police response? If there was ever a map to have highly armed assailants be able to spawn in and try to take you out after going loud, it was this one.
@borismuller864 жыл бұрын

New York is a lot of fun, but it is absurdly easy to get in and out of the vault without being seen once you know how.
@Lucas616163 жыл бұрын
@Cherek Dauvin its not about it being "the wrong way" but just common sense. It's a bank. A vault full of gold. In the middle of New York. You shouldn't just have some guards get rather suspicious of this ere alarm before forgetting about it and wandering away when your breaking into the vault. If your in a shootout in a bank in the middle of New York, police are on their way in fucking storm. Its just a missed opportunity for an easy bit of realism, which you should be fine with, if its the "wrong way" to play the game, why complain about something that would make that approach more difficult regardless?

I absolutely love New York just for the vibe it has. It so perfectly encapsulates what I picture in my head when I think of a huge NYC bank, and it has all the areas I would want in a bank level, like the big teller area at the entrance, the section with the higher up bankers/managers on the second floor, the stock broker area on the 3rd floor, the safety deposit boxes in the basement, which is also where the awesome vault is.

I love your Hitman videos. It’s clear you have a love for the franchise and a deep respect for the devs and you make a lot of good points about ways they can improve. That being said, I don’t find your argument about the cutscenes persuasive at all. Mocap is incredibly expensive and the painting-like quality to the stills, while evocative, still feels like IO’s best option for a much reduced budget after being dropped by their last studio. You can’t have the games without some sort of exposition delivery system and this seems like the best compromise between a fully animated scene and a wall of text.

I am surprised you missed the underground bunker in Haven for your first playthrough. You literally just check in at your hotel and get asked to meet your target which gives you the mission to retrieve the USB drive which sets you on the path down there.

I just played through the bank and every playthrough of the level, I couldn't resist breaking into the vault and picking up everything that wasn't glued down. I had my plan down to a science and got a 5 star run doing that, and that was *super* satisfying... the revelation that you can just stuff the data core into a briefcase (despite being the size of a briefcase or bigger) is extremely deflating. I wish I hadn't heard that, because it diminishes my opinion of that level a little.

The island is similar to the one that one of my family friend’s own in Malaysia. I adore this level that IOI created despite probably never took inspiration from that island but still- it’s so surreal to the actual place. Though there were flaws, guards could literally both see and attack you from a distance, the water can sometimes be clustered and can’t be determined if it’s walkable or not. Overall it’s in my top 3 maps in Season 2 and 1.
@jayfromthebaygames1543 жыл бұрын
You can put the data core IN A BRIEFCASE? Well that would have saved me a lot of time trying to get silent assassin while holding a large illegal item. If you cut right on the way out of the bank vault and go up two flights of stairs there is a janitor who is easy to isolate and has the keys to an unguarded exit maybe 20 yards from where you find him mopping. I wouldn't have taken an hour discovering that if I'd known you can just walk out the door with it 🤦♂️

I never liked the bank. I 100%'d it (excluding silent assassin suit only), and it felt like a chore, because I don't think the level is big enough to boast 60+ challenges not including the classics. Pride Cometh Before Destruction, for example, was just so obtuse, and it feels shoe-horned in. Also, I once made the market crash before I even knew that was possible, and I didn't sell any shares. Anyone know why/how that happened?

For one, very nice to see the HITMAN 2 cutscenes get a mention that goes beyond "this is a clear sign of budget cuts." Which is a take that was said so often that it feels like it should have been obviously confirmed somewhere, but I'm not sure it ever was. Say what you will about them, but I think they got across everything they needed to and, importantly, *I actually remember them*. If it was a stylistic choice, I'd hardly say it didn't pay off for me. For two, it's even nicer to see mentions of HITMAN's surprising lack of (obvious) success given that HITMAN 3 is now not only out, but made back its budget in a week of release. I'm sure the Epic exclusivity helped, but I'm also fairly certain that the people who love it and gush about it (which sometimes seems to be almost everyone who has actually played it beyond a couple missions) has finally paid off. And now they're making a Bond game. It's already starting to feel weird that I spent much of this trilogy's lifespan uncertain if it would actually ever get to be a trilogy, and that's a great thing to feel weird about.
