Of course, you may have to add some additional context to connect free lunches to the mental health of adolescents, but I can appreciate your advice here on providing that related context and not going so broad with context.

Your advice on the 'hook' does contradict what I teach in class, but I'd suggest there's a way to provide a hook related to the context of one's essay.

Sure, I think, for an intro, a citation that verifies the link is probably enough--but I would expect that to be developed more fully in the rest of the argument. As for hooks, I imagine people are hooked when they start to care: as long as a "hook" does that and isn't just a shallow opening trick, I have no quarrel with it--thanks for your insights!

Do you have a book for purchase or ones you'd recommend?
@WritingwithAndrew Жыл бұрын
I don't have (but I like the idea!) There are tons of books out there, though. My recommendation would probably depend on what, exactly, you're hoping to get from it, though

About the first introduction, It sounded like a saga about the lunch lady....HAHA just saying :)

Ha--perhaps composing that saga is my true calling!
