Thank you for this helpful tutorial. I tried to use the foil quill pens with adapter D in the Cameo 4 but unfortunately there is not enough pressure to get the foil sticked to my cardstock. I even tried the highest pressure setting in silhouette studio: I still don't get good results. After searching the internet for help I find out that many people have the same problem and use adapter C with the blue pen holder. But I really don't like this 'complicated' solution. Does anyone have an idea why the adapter D doesn't work for some people but in this tutorial everything turns out perfect? Thank you very much!

When mine says that it is because I have not selected a tool after hitting the send button. It usually throws me off too until I realize i have NO TOOL selected.

I am doing everything just as the video says and it looks just like yours....everything is check marked ready to go and I get a incompatible tool and action for foil. So I change to cardstock....same response. I tried many and same result. Any other hints?

This is an old post but in case you never found the answer , ...You have to check the sketch box uncheck the cut box in the send screen.

How can i stop the sticky mat ripping my cardstock when i take it off. Is it possible to use the card without the mat?

I wonder if you’re using too strong of a sticky mat. Perhaps you need to use the light grip.

hi, i have just started doing foil quill with the silhouette cameo but I'm finding the foil isnt transferred onto my card stock properly, do you have any idea why it isnt transferring on my cardstock?

Did you let your quill heat up for at least 5 mins. before starting?

@@PattyAnnesPlace yes I did let it heat up for more than 5mins. iv also tried high and low pressure but you can still see little patches where the foil hasn't transferred properly so I'm.not getting great results like what I expected.

I am having the same issue...there does not seem to be enough pressure from my cameo.. they work if u do it my hand but with the machine I can't get it to work for me...and it looks so simple

You absolutely can, you need to use adapter A from the set that comes with the Foil Quill when using the Cameo 1. WRMK have not come up with a special adapter for Cameo 4 yet, that's what this video is mostly about, how to get around it.

Have you contacted the manufacturer? Maybe the one you got is faulty
