I think it's important to learn on a non suspension EUC, you get into the habit of keeping the knees bent, using your legs as "suspension" (if that makes sense), and planning ahead for bumps on the road, also staying alert and keeping your eyes open.. You have to learn all this the hard way, I remember hitting potholes 3 years ago on my V10f at 35km/h, it really taught me a lesson. After that, suspension is the way 🥷🙏
@laurv83703 ай бұрын
Fully agree. Some old toys like V8F or V10F are still the best wheels to learn.
@dnthmn1173 ай бұрын
This can help, but unfortunately it adds another financial barrier to an already hard-to-break-into hobby/sport if you don't know someone who already has one. It costs less to get the wheel you'll ultimately want, and stick with trying to learn it.
@MrMawashii3 ай бұрын
@@dnthmn117 I understand the argument, but a smaller wheel will always have a purpose later on, be it a V10f/V8f, KS16 or 14... Your money isn't exactly lost.. Also if I were to learn on a Lynx lets say, which is my wheel now, I would've been absolutely terrified three years ago, and it wouldn't have been a fun experience at all... Some will learn to ride motorcycles on a Hayabusa for example, but for most people this is a terrible idea.

@@MrMawashii Exactly. Having a heavy suspension wheel isn't ideal for short trips, or needing to toss it in a car. Also, if you get a flat and don't have time or parts to fix it, you ride your smaller wheel in the mean time. Having 4-5 wheels gets crazy but 2 wheels can be useful.

Old guy here (72 years old now). Started with a V8F August 2021. Was considering Molicel S18, but some arrive needing work on suspension, and there is more maintenance, so I ended up getting an 18XLV2 (comes with spiked pedals and power pad protrusions on upper pads), in August 2024. I'm just a hobbyist, and only ride about 50 miles 80 km per month, paved bike paths or private streets (no potholes). I also ride my 2001 Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle once a week (I used it to commute to work before I retired). It can do 80 mph | 128 kph in 1st gear, so l have less desire for speed on an EUC, mostly riding at 15 to 19 mph (24 to 30 kph), since I'm riding on bike paths (pedestrians, kids, dogs, squirrels, lizards, ...).
@brancofreitas133 ай бұрын
14D will make you learn more about riding, pay more attention on the road like bumps, sand, branches and other stuff. And of course, will teach about protection even in a small "slow" wheel, any fall on the street will hurt without protection. At the bare minimum gloves and knee protection.

I have 2 suspension EUCs (Master Pro V3, InMotion V11) and 3 Non-Suspension EUCs (InMotion V8s, InMotion V12, Gotway Nikola AR+) I love both versions. In my past and present world of bicycles/pedal unicycles, non-suspension was more standard. When encountering rough terrain, I got off my seat and stood on the pedals, knees bent to act as a natural spring, wore thick-soled shoes, and had just enough tire pressure to absorb the bumps, but not dent your rim/get a flat tire. Non-Suspension EUCs apply the same rules. Suspension EUCs, well, are like suspension bicycles. You get more of the cush, but you have a more complex and heavier ride (of course there are always exceptions). What I also love the Non-Suspension EUCs is their SIMPLICITY - they emphasize what an EUC is - simple design - all you have is a battery, motor, and brain - that's it. When it comes to inspection time, my Nikola is so easy to work on and maintain. Simple and clean.

I love my V12HT. If you put on the jump pads and honeycomb pedals you are very well locked in and if yout hit something you just jump with the wheel and drop back on it. I really have no issue regarding this. The wheel is so smooth and so great compromise between power/weight/size/battery. I can ride it aroud the town or do a 80km ride no problem. The most I did was 185km during one weekend (I have 8A charger). I can easily put it in the car, upstairs, light offoad, fast road riding is also not an issue at all. After 7300 km the tire is in very good condition (can do 16 000 km easily). The lack of maintenance is also huge plus in my small apartment. Just Ideal small beast wheel for me. One small correction - tire change on the V14 is actually very easy :).

I've ridden 3000 miles on my sus delete v13 in the last 6 months and I have honestly loved it for my daily commute. I am usually cruising at around 40 mph during my daily commute and anything smaller than a clenched fist barely matters as far as bumps go. This was much more of an issue on my v12 but tire size makes a big difference. I keep thinking about installing the sus lowering kit but I am so in love with the minimal work required with no suspension. I hate checking pressures and stuff like that. I am glad I ran into your video talking about how much nicer the v13 felt with no sus. It made the handling dynamics a lot nicer.

I firmly believe Begode is on the right track with making non-suspension small wheels with plush tubeless tires. If kingsong would use that strategy to widen their 14D/16S line it would make them a lot more enjoyable to ride on less than ideal road conditions, and give a nicer neutral width stance- their current suspension wheels are way too wide and cumbersome -18XL is very comfortable, just a wider Tire accommodation and a kickstand would make it the perfect wheel for me.

I have both 🙂 Non suspension - out of date perhaps, but my NineBot OneE+ is still going strong, and what is that 2014 and IP rated to boot. Up and down sides, the Ninebot is agile un intimidating, light, I don't put my Master in the car for example. The S18 for example would go in the car but the range is down to 26 miles (still a lot right), and is the only EUC I ride off road (well the master a bit perhaps but its too big and too heavy). Range well my 16X has range, will go in the car, and is fine on the road if you are paying attention, bags of torque for the hills as well.

I hate doing maintenance on things. I want Range on any EV I use though. Because everything is spread out far in Florida. Seems I need 50+mile range at least. Or carry a Roger Charger for fast charging. Now I haven't bought myself an EUC yet ... Yet. I'm looking for a Long Range EUC of course. Road riding. I rather walk offroad nature trails than ride them. So I can walk/push a EUC if I need to to keep Rangers off my back. I do have a Long Range EbIke already. It gets up to 200+ miles. I love it. But I still want a EUC because they are smaller and easier to maneuver around stuff. I like tires to be firm, fully inflated. Kinda wish someone made solid rubber tires for EUCs like they do for escooters now... Again for less maintenance purposes.

First, let's talk about the video format... I miss so much the intro (wrrrrooonnnggg way 🎶)... for the rest, a little bit too static (sorry). About the content : I learned a year ago riding an EUC on a 14D and it is still in my stallion BUT my newly acquired 16S is about to replace it. It is simply more powerful (800W VS 1200W), slightly bigger (16kg, ++ for the trolley) and more battery (420Wh VS 840Wh). It does help you to develop the competency of always looking the ground for cracks/holes/bumps/rocks. I mainly use this wheel for errands as it is more discreet and practical. I'm even looking to get an 18XL... My InMotion V11, although not the highest powerful and playful wheel, is like riding on a cloud. It's crazy how a suspension wheel absorbs ground imperfections. Long rides/commutes are so comfortable. But it has an impact... weight/footprint, price and complexity. I think having both (non-suspension and suspension wheels) is a must-have.
