I couldn’t agree more Adam. Sometimes, a smaller lighter weight wheel is the way to go..As you say, particularly in town, for errands, shopping…dog walking etc. Also, they are so practical and easy to live with.. Ok, so I know you’re not a fan, but I started two years ago with a V8f, and after 1500 kms bought a V12HT . I like both wheels, but still use the V8 as much as the V12! It’s always in the back of the car …and I use it as a tender to the car… Park on the outskirts and then wheel into town! 👍

My InMotion V8S (equipped with NyloNove pedals and a black/olive green EUC bodyguard) is my ultimate small wheel, which I still ride daily. In the InMotion Leaderboards, people are putting upward of 30,000 mi (48,280km) on these little guys. I am discovering that my small wheel is playing an important key role in controlling the speed ninja (where top speeds sneak up on you as your confidence grows when progressing through your EUC experience gain, and lead to a nasty crash.) By setting the "Speed Clamp 15mph" on my V8S, it tunes my mind (with tiltback) in controlling my speed. It's like having newly gained superpowers, and now I need to control them or they could get out of control, and I crash a terrible crash that would end my EUC riding days for good. My small wheel is teaching me control, discipline and patience - a valuable asset to have when you ride a Master Pro or V13 - It could save you an expensive trip to the hospital, or maybe your life.

Im just about to watch this video now. I have some reasons myself as to loving small wheels. #1 is cost. Generally these come at a lower price which is good for those who see our hobby and want to join, but are not willing to drop 4 grand on their first wheel. Small wheels are great for the last mile solution that PEVs were after. Having a portable wheel to run down the street to the store or bring on a train, store in your backpack or whatever is amazing. The ips i5 hsiang had I honestly wish a slightly improved version was released today. As far as barrier to entry for wheels goes like i mentioned with price, a smaller wheel is much easier to handle for new riders too. I have a friend trying to learn right now. He has been trying really hard with his s22 he got and didn't get very far with it. Had him step on my 18xl for a bit which was showing better results for him. He even got to step on a v5f and after trying these two lighter wheels it clicked for him super quickly and he can now ride euc. As an experienced rider why would I like small wheels? Well I mentioned the micromobility aspect which is huge for me. Ive been eyeing up the mten4 or the kingsong 16s to have as a lighter wheel to carry on me because of this. But I also love the idea of the small wheel just for a different ride. As someone who can't afford to keep dropping thousands on each new iteration of wheel that comes out, having a small wheel might give me the satisfaction of trying new ways of riding, learning different tricks, or whatever because if a smaller cheaper wheel breaks I would feel much better about it than if I owned a v13 and wrecked it trying something. Overall small wheels I reallyyyyyyy hope manufacturers either support for a long time, or start making new ones! I care more about the barrier to entry part of it than anything else because I wanna see people riding.

I still love and ride my Ninebot One E+, will be using it tomorrow in fact. I tend to use it last mile, so I can park out of town for free. Sling it in the car at a moments notice. The Ninebot is the only wheel I can currently ride backwards - my bad not been practicing. The ninebot is nimble, unassuming, and good around people like no other. Safe, well its slow and IP65 rated. I only wear a cycle hat and wrist guards when I ride this wheel, something I would not consider adequate for my other wheels. Learning absolutely. Much cheaper too. My E+ still has a 16" wheel mind, which is a god send for the bumps.

I got a very lightly (5km) used inmotion v8 for €400, been fun learning to ride it so far and really like the compact size compared to an electric scooter, but still love my scooters :)

As a last mile solution 14d is pretty much perfect. The only thing that can make it better in terms of form factor is to make it a bit shorter so it could fit backpacks better. But it will cause smaller wheel diameter that isn't a good thing. So maybe some specific backpacks?)

The KS 14 & 16S have been a good form factor and unicycle for many years. I learned on the 16S and should have kept it. Trolly handles - does any unicycle have a sturdy one? I don't think so. But the center-mounted handle is a lot better than the rear-mounted one on the RS - unless you like having the unicycle try to get away from you and ram people and objects when it is inadvertently tilted to the side.

I have to admit, sometimes id like a small wheel. Dragging around a Sherman Max or S isnt always fun. I also have a Nikola (that can replace my sherman for 80% of my rides), which is a good all rounder and the wheel i use to train people. But sometimes id like a KS 14D or S, to be able to jump in a bus, autocar or a train.

The Z10 has some sort of BMS where you can see the capacaty of each cell... why does no other wheel until the V13 has that? And redundand systems are not that more heavy, but would be awesome for safety. Ip rating should be given for every EUC as far as they are not only for good weather conditions... nice video again 🥰👏🔝

As for the charge port, it never sparked on me when plugging, maybe because of the 84v? Don't know.. and yes, it is a quite simple (begode) wheel, but it was made in the time when they did care a bit about quality, before they started their "no shell" crap design

Imagine a KS 14D format, but higher voltage and high performance molicel batteries. You can have the ultimate tiny "sleeper", with no fear of cutting out because of the sag.

I think the original purpose of an electric wheel is to move in close range. These days, the new wheels are much out of their original purpose, and speed and power are made more than necessary. When you have a hobby, you want to forget your original purpose and go bigger, faster, and further, but after a few years, you'll realize that the most basic is the best.

Can I have your opinion?. I live in Kyiv, Ukraine, my route to work is about 35 km, so to work and back it's 70km. At work place I always have ability to charge EUC, but at home not every time due to power shortages. Thanks to your recent best EUC's video I'm choosing between knigsong 16x and 18xl. The local prices are pretty good, used ones especially). I pretty much prefer 16x because I'm about 95-100 kg rider and I like that it's a little bit more off-road friendly. But I have 2 worries: 1-range. I can use some public transportation but it will be metro and in rush hours it's not an easy job with EUC. So it wood be good to have 70+km range(terrain is pretty much flat) 2-top speed. I have to go from Kyiv to nearby city, so I have to drive near cars on road. So I'll feel more comfortable with top speed of 45-50km/h+. This one is not a deal-breaker cause I regularly see people using bikes, but I'll feel more secure) I know that something like Veteran Sherman wood be much better, but it's way out of my price range right now)

@@mr_wrongway Thanks for your answer! I'll contact via Instagram, but it seems like Sherman will cost too much for me. Also it will be my first EUC. Need for 70 km range is a little bit bigger that I really need, I thought about it for accounting for future battery degradation. In worst case scenario, if there will be no electricity at home by using public transportation needed range is about 60km comfortably(only metro) and about 50 km (with changing from metro to bus ). Will it be ok to use 16x or 18xl, witch one is better?

A thin tire needs to be run with higher pressure to protect the rim, which is bad for comfort mainly on "hard stuff". I also find wider tires to have more desirable steering behavior, in particular on closed surfaces. On gravel, it doesn't make such a difference to me.

I had both. I have to admit I had more fun with the KS14d than the KS16s . The small diameter makes it much zippier. It’s a blast to ride if you don’t need higher speed or extra gyroscopic stability.

3:25 It is still unsafe, considering it can have an "intermediate" state (between ON and OFF) if it fails. Simply put, it is completely unacceptable for circuits to behave like that; in the event of a failure, it should completely shutdown. Period. Not directly feed the motor. That should not be a possibility, but I saw it happen 4x in a row (ouch! 4 burnt boards...3 of them covered by warranty, fortunately).

Sweet spot is good and nimble 16" wheels imo but smaller wheels have their uses. Still the 14d would need upgrades as it's not the best at anything but it's fun for sure.

@@orna1377 Inmotion V8's have a weak axle. Doesn't take much to break them. If the EUC starts to shake violently, that could be a sign of axle problems.
