This beautiful woman Ms. Dorothy Womble, in this documentary was part of our assembly when she would visit her native home in North Carolina. She passed away about 10 years ago, she survived the great depression and the racism of the south and the north during the Harlem Renaissance. She was a wealth of knowledge concerning those years. She was a blessing to our ministry and everyone she met; we still miss her.

It's sad that when I watch the black lady...(bless her heart) speak about surviving the depression, I read negative and ignorant comments. But when I watched the white lady speak on it, all the comments were, positive. It's sad that were not far from that in 2020..ppl still see race as an issue. Ppl in need of assistance comes in all colors!!!!❣

Can you imagine how the entitlement crowd will respond to a depression today? They have been taught that society owes them something, so what if society doesn't have anything? We are ill prepared for a depression today.

My family Is Irish. We had it just as bad as the blacks did if not worse and the Asians as well. A black person had a better chance at times than an Irishman most of the time. They hated us

This was never about race. why did you have to try and undermine other's experience? You obviously weren't alive during the great depression. So what gives you the right to claim that you had it worse than someone else? The rate of unemployment for black people during the great depression was 50% and the rate for Irish people was 23%. Don't try to compare your struggles and play victim when race had nothing to do with this video.
