@@zukacs You squeeze them down to a quarter of their width and you shove them deep into your ear where they expand again and make a seal. Of course, that's only if you really need to block noise, such as if you are shooting or using certain machinery. In this case, it's perfectly fine since you don't need any hearing protection at all in a jet airliner. If you wear earplugs the proper way, it causes irritation anyways, due to moisture in your ear. I would recommend ear plugs, they can reduce the noise by 22db. The larger ones can be 25db
@SunAndMirror5 жыл бұрын
It only reduces high frequency by the rated 25dB, since most broadband noises are a spectrum, it is made up of a series of different Hz. As the Hz get lower, it becomes more difficult to block, which is why ear protection is only "okay" at blocking midrange sounds like voices, and pretty poor at blocking bass sounds like subwoofers.
@TheCoomer5 жыл бұрын
@@SunAndMirror I completely agree, I work in an engineering environment with high speed CNC machines. Even with ear plugs and ear defenders combined you can hear certain frequencies regardless. The low rumble hum however is impossible to get rid of.
