An Inside Look at the "Michael Jackson One" Cirque Du Soleil Show

Jamie King, writer/director of the "Michael Jackson One" Cirque Du Soleil show and former MJ backup dancer, talks to the WSJ's Lee Hawkins about the challenge of doing a show that lives up to Jackson's high standards and his working relationship with John Branca, chairman of The Michael Jackson Co. and co-executor of Jackson's estate. According to the estate, Jackson has sold more than 50 million records since his death, and 70 percent of his sales come from outside the United States. King also discusses "Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour," which he also wrote and directed.

My aunt works at this show. She is in charge of the artists' costume changes. When I went to Vegas, she gave me and my family free tickets in the 6th row. I would see this show a million times and I would never get tired of it. Really recommend it to Michael Jackson fans and just people in general.

Great interview with Jamie King. He always speaks so highly about Michael Jackson as an artist and human being. He did a great job on both Immortal and One and both are well worth seeing multiple times. Lee Hawkins was very respectful in his interview of Jamie King. It was most enjoyable.

Dangerous tour and super bowl is when I seen Jamie in developed a huge crush. What people do not write is Jamie was in Janet Jackson 's If - he was dancing with Nikki -at first I thought it was JLo but no he was dancing with Nikki. I was copying Janet and her hairdo. Plus I watch/ follow dancer's careers. I really love hearing about him. I wish they did documentary of Micheal and Janet 's dancers esp Jamie,Eddie,Levelle,Randy,Dominic. I been dancing since diapers. Gosh still loveee his Superbowl and Dangerous my fave performance ever. I learned alot of my moves from dancers like Jamie, MJ and Janet's and their dancers and choreographers. Iam so glad MJ and Travis Payne hired Jamie,eddie,dominic,levelle,randy. Jamie so handsome.i love janet and mj 's songs ..i still dance and watch them. There is only one or 2 dance moves i dont copy of Mj. MJ and Janet was / is best performers . I love Jamie ,I love Jamie! I love that Mj and Janet sung about things that help the world. I was so glad Mj and Prince hired Jamie. I seen his performance Prince Tribute his dance so perfect ..i still watch it on repeat. Iam going have 2 watch this on repeat. I just bought Jamie's dvd. I wish i could hear how his audition with Janet and MJ went. How he hear of them ? I eish i could see jamie's and the other MJ 's dancers auditions and behind the scenes. I love how Jamie,Eddie,Randy,Levelle was so fucused and just stayed in character when stage / technical issies fails happened. Its like they were in there own world and so focused on their part they were responsible -they didnt break character. Wow! I really love what he did 4 MJ shows. Its amazing and I always love Cirque du Soleil. I copied MJ,Janet and Jamie and the other dancers moves ( minus 1 or 2 ones )

Best show i ever seen after Mj past Dangerous Tour / Superbowl and past performance of Mj and Janet but this is speacial because Jamie involved and i really love Katharine and the kids enjoyed it and help them through their pain. The host asked alot of good questions

Michael Jackson never left on a jet pack. Watch closely. He walked into the box and was replaced by the person who knew how to run the jetpack. Michael got to leave the building while everyone was distracted by the man in the jet pack.

I saw the show in October, it was so amazing I couldn't pick a favorite part! The video brought back memories of some of the amazing parts, but the glowing dancers were so unique and special. Thriller was also well done. See it if you can!!

However this show would have been shit. His choreography got stuck somewhere years back. There is a reason why he didn't get the gig, they made the right decision. Jamie actually worked with MJ and understood him much better in terms of a show. After all, Robson walked away from the middle of directing that step movie because he caved under the pressure or whatever. He just isn't up to it nor did he know MJ in the way he portrays. I just hate that he was capable of being that evil in his desperation for money & his feelings of entitlement. But I hear what you are saying...It's just all so very sick that anyone could lie like that, especially about someone who did so much for you. smh
