God I hated marching Cymbals in my first year of drumline during high school. So unpleasant not because they aren't exactly drums but they are the most difficult thing to physically handle and they cut the hell outta your arms. I had to bandage my arms after homecoming every game or event. I am so glad I got off the next year and onto bass drum 1.

they need to march their percussion in the front so they are not rushing their movements and sticking
@aggiemanwb8 жыл бұрын
as a drummer from the percussion section, when you are marching out or in, the percussion needs to be up front to keep the step in line, look at how they trying to march plus keep up with the horns in front.
@prime2time28 жыл бұрын
wesley byas I am against you on this one.... when you have them in the front the rest of the band is ALWAYS off step... look at bands like Alabama State .. Alabama AMU...
@aggiemanwb8 жыл бұрын
you dont always have to have them in front just at certain times. Or ask the drum majors to keep the band together they leave the poor percussion section from march so hard.

The name of there drum section should be called funk and flash, no rudiments what's so ever... but funky!!
@oozzy097 жыл бұрын
Puncho DaGreat Have you watched any of their other material besides their marching cadences? There plenty of rudiments being played. Go look stuff from us like Un5hazed, Chop Not Slop, Da Funk, FTB, Still Standing, A 511. It's not our style to be technical with marching cadences. This section was built off of funk. That does not mean we exclude rudiments. our marching material and stand material is no where near the same. Just look at all of our other material before you make a comment like that.
@kershiffreeman3087 жыл бұрын
if there were any rudiments I couldn't hear them over those horrid sounding drums, and all the buzz rolls..
@kershiffreeman3087 жыл бұрын
and I have watched the videos, I played in a college marching band.. hell I have played against them.. very funky not technical you guys!! Tune your ears better..
@DrumLuv237 жыл бұрын
I will be the first to admit that I thought that this was the most over rated line I had seen until I saw them in person at the SCG in 2012. Now I'm one of their biggest fans. And this is from a guy that learned corps first. They have advanced rudiments in their material and many of them. Not only that, but I love their passion and aggression in everything that they play. LOL This isn't to say there is anything wrong with personal preferences, because there isn't. However, I have to give credit where it's due, and these guys can play. VERY talented.
@oozzy095 жыл бұрын
Ted Snow This is coming from a former member of this section who has a degree in music education (percussion). Just because you didn’t hear certain things doesn’t mean it’s not there. And we don’t have any material with buzz rolls in them. We typically keep some of our rudiments in our percussive literature open for clarity purposes in large venues. If you don’t like the sound of the drums then so be it. That doesn’t take away from their skills.
