@@Andrew-cp7mc I'm a lefty, I have to root for Leylah, but she's never going to get bigger and stronger including her serve which she'll need to win majors. I've seen her practices where she throws an American football which I presume is to strengthen her serving motion, I'll argue she's done what she can to max out her potential - which is a compliment. Yep, she's fighter, and a thinker and takes chances like taking balls early, this was fun to watch eg the stretch overhead backhand down the line. But yeah, I think her destiny is in 250 or 500 tournaments and nothing here has been easy for her. Compliments to Osorio too for tracking balls down. Third set tiebreaker wow.

I really believe Fernadez can improve her serve by getting a coach who gonna help to get solid serve similar to Barty by not really focusing on power but rather on precision . Leyla is the comeback kid in this match. Champions know how to win a match even when behind. This was a hard fought match to the end. Camila made great effort to dethrone the champ. Leyla showed her maturity and calmness that won her another title. At the 3rd set it slowed down Camila so Leyla took advantage in the deciding tie break. Kudos to Leyla to win it all! This should elevate her in the standings in the WTA tour. Give credit to the Columbian for her efforts! Great match overall!

Leylah Fernandez is already a star! She has won the tournament due to her superior mental strength and also the ability to close out matches. She defends her title which seems almost impossible in modern WTA, but I hardly had any doubt that she would throughout the entire week. We might be witnessing one of the future greats of women's tennis in Leylah. Spare a thought for Camila who also had an excellent week here and had 5-6 MPs but Leylah had nerves of steel to stay in this match and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

The main indicator is the fact that it comes over the net with topspin, which is why Fernandez doesn't expect the trajectory at all and completely missed it. This is only possible with a double bounce as the ball effectively hits into the court first. For those claiming that this win is tainted or that Leylah somehow cheated...That is absolute BS and a pile of childish ignorance. Those folks are likely mostly sore Emma fans who still have not moved on from the USO...which is quite pathetic. The lights flickered and some went out. Leylah had a legit complaint. She asked if they could fix the ones that were out and they agreed and did. Not her fault it took 15 minutes. Don't tell me other players would not have done the same. Most if not all would have in the same situation. Leylah has also had to deal with all kinds of delays from others...all players have to deal with those situations... Selective outrage is lame at least be consistent. Camila is a professional and a grown woman. It is up to her to deal with that and regroup back in the game. It is not like she had won several points in a row and had momentum. Give me a break it was a battle at deuce. Camilia had six chances at match point. You would think that if Leylah did something egregious there would be some booing from the crowd. I heard nothing...quite the opposite as they were chanting her name and clapping. It was a fantastic match...don't sour with conspiracy theories and hyperboles.

Leylah has no authority over the lights. Floodlights are hot and gulp a lot of power, so it takes them 10-15 minutes to come back on. This was a tournament decision, not a player one. Leylah was only arguing if the point could be replayed. She wanted a let. She lost that argument, but the delay was going to happen regardless.

She didn’t; in fairness to her she really might not have known she played a dead ball. What a joke the umpire made himself out to be in that moment. Players should be allowed to see the video replay like on hawkeye live courts.

Don't pause it, look at the movement after she hits the ball. She basically just puts the racket under and just pushes the ball taking advantage of the bounce. You can see it clearly. You can't fake gravity but the umpire is a bit slow. I must say that for her opponent to know it and to not say anything, speaks for what kind of a person she is.
