All of five of Emma's hard court matches post Wimbledon have been more than 2 hours. Emma has self belief and confidence is there which is great. Her body however needs gradual building instead of weeks without matches then 2 hour battle, it cant feel good going through that then having a tournament next week not sustainable for WTA tour. She needs to play 250s to develop physically and mentally to close out matches.

@@deusexmachina9776 Almost all physical conditioning happens off the court though. Matches themselves will only really give her match experience, not better cardio/joint/muscle health. So if the latter is the issue, then I'd say it's more down to the fact she spent most of 2023 doing almost no exercise at all after those 3 surgeries. It will probably take a year or so to 'catch up' everything her body lost that year. Plus she's still suffering from sore wrists, so I'm not 100% convinced she'll ever be able to fully unleash on her shots consistently again over many matches back-to-back. It was a sad sight in her 1st round US Open loss, despite playing with the lighter balls, not seemingly able to hit hard & flat like she could in 2021.

You know Emma is unseeded in this tournament, while Daria Kasatkina is the #1 seed. Yet you make a dedicated highlight video of this match and lump Dasha’s into a “Day 3” montage. This is a repeated pattern this year. What the heck? Fans have voted Kasatkina “Most Liked” player on Reddit’s r/tennis, and she’s ranked #13 in the world despite a bad season. Trying to get some points back in Korea. But yeah, let’s show the far less talented Raducanu instead because she’s a British favorite. Show top ranked players! Stop avoiding showing Dasha’s matches! You’ll have to show her next one because it’s against Raducanu. Treat Daria with respect. She’s been on the tour a lot longer, been (and is) ranked a lot higher, and is well liked by fans and the players themselves. She’s the one Russian who’s taken a real stand against the war, too. Stop brushing her aside for this young player who may or may not turn out to be a one-hit wonder. Or at least do full highlights of both matches.

Yes, she was struggling with injuries after that, but this cute lady - with her glorious fairytale victory - changed an approach of what people are now thinking about tennis. As a sport in general. You cannot deny that. She raised the stakes. She made a lot of young female players to be angry and hungry to go and win the prestigious Grand Slam tournament one day. Because she proved that it is possible. It. Is. Possible.
@einarsd4Ай бұрын
@@jazzthief9096Since winning US Open in 2021, she couldn't muster consecutive wins at all. One early exit after another. And that's not only because of her injuries, it's also because since she plays very predictably most players have figured her out. Emma Raducanu just stands at the baseline and hits the ball. She isn't running for every ball. Players like Ostapenko, Kasatkina, Swiatek and other top players will always get the better of her, because she is stubborn. She will continue to have early exits if she will not add variety to her tennis and if she will not improve her serve and return of serve. Even Stearns was close on defeating her. I of wish to her good luck in upcoming matches, but she won't win many matches if she will not change her overall tennis. She is also mentally inconsistent and weak. She can have huge lead and then waste it and still lose the match. Emma Raducanu is very weak under pressure. Her US Open tittle run was a fluke and lucky coincidence. The talent scout has always had mental problems, i mean Richarlison, seriously. Who on earth pays £65 million for Solankie, if he was any good, Liverpool wouldn't have got rid of him to Bournemouth all those years ago ??

The issue for Emma is that she expects wildcards to tournaments and won't play qualifiers. Naomi Osaka has played them. Emma does not play enough tournaments. Can't see her progressing very far in this tournament.

Well, you'll be happy then. That's the main thing.

Didn't need a wildcard for this tournament.
@crazycatpetera1404Ай бұрын
In fairness though, her decision-making is stubborn and unorthodox but it’s working 😂 She was ranked 320ish when she came back.. she’s currently 60 on the live rankings, and if she wins her next match she’ll be just outside the top 50 and won’t really need any wildcards 😂
