Absolutely Aaron. best quote though from Sally "Stan you're so bad" - and Stan cracking up stating how much that clip cost them - that's funny stuff Stan. We will miss that.

I was fortunate enough to move into their broadcast market around this time. It is still some of the best local news programming I've ever seen in the country. I feel very fortunate to have had the chance to enjoy and benefit from such a high caliber news team and production.

20:43: As a 13 year old I lived for that McDonald's/Olympic Promo. I remember Sports Illustrated producing a silver cover Olympic issue. Had the schedule for all of the events. When you bought certain items from McDonald's, there was a little pull away tag that would list an event. If the US would win a medal in said event, you would get a food prize. For the first and last time in my life, I actually cared about team handball, pistol shooting, and rowing. There was food on the line for the dufus!!

21:57: Hills was a great regional store chain that existed throughout Pennsylvania and New England and a few other states. What happened to it is indicative of what happened to the rest of the American economy. A series of pointless buy-outs, including an initial hostile take-over, ended up destroying the company, ending jobs for tens of thousands and enriching just a small number of brokers and lawyers and not benefiting society whatsoever.

You're right, and it is very sad. The 80's is when American capitalism went off the deep end. Grew up going to the Hills in Butler, Pa. Back to school shopping, topped off with a slushie and a soft pretzel. Wish it was still around.

Hills was late to accept credit cards, for the longest time it was cash or personal check only. I jad a professor tell me this, he was a buyer for jc pennys back then.

4:51 "even more safer"? I hope for his sake that that is an actual quote and not his prose, but I'm not optimistic. Where were Denardo and Long when this broadcast aired? It was Sunday night. I guess they were gone for the day.

19:00 Greg Louganis! One of the most talented divers to ever compete! Carl Lewis who follows is the only athlete to have ever won medals in the same event in four sets of Olympic Games.

Geraldine Ferraro's husband did business with members of the Gambino crime family in NYC. It came out in court years later. That's probably why he wouldn't release his financials

Yikes, really? I still would have voted for Mondale/Ferraro, if I had been old enough. Not a Reagan fan.
