1979, the year I was born! Back when TV 29 was known as WTAF, before becoming a FOX station. After FOX acquired the station, the callsign became WTXF.

29 affiliated with Fox in 1986, but remained owned by Taft. TVX bought it in 1988 and renamed it WTXF. Fox acquired the station in 1995, long after the call letter change. In its early days as a Fox affiliate, 29 was still the same 29, given Fox was only a syndication service back then. Damn Rupert Murdoch and his takeovers.
