The 7th edition of Altibox Norway Chess is a 10-player round-robin featuring World Champion Magnus Carlsen and six more of the world's Top 10 players. It takes place from 3-15 June in the Clarion Energy Hotel and Stavanger Concert Hall in Stavanger. Classical games are worth 2 points for a win, but in case of a draw players get half a point and play an Armageddon game for the remaining point.
Players receive 2 hours for each classical game, with a 10-second increment only after move 40. No draw offers are allowed until move 30. In the Armageddon game White has 10 minutes to Black's 7, with a 3-second increment from move 61. In case of a draw the player with Black gets the full point. If there's a tie for first at the end of the tournament a 3+2 blitz playoff will take place. Official website: norwaychess.no

Little fun fact: Since it is so light outside during the night in Norway with the sun rising at 4 in the morning, Wesley So and his mother has been creating a pillow and blanket fortress in front of the windows in their room. Anand also had trouble sleeping. Levon Aronian, however, said he could sleep anywhere anytime.

I only hope that the classical format of chess is not forgotten. Rapid, blitz, armageddon are a different game than classical chess. Changing the rules of a game can really take its toll. Like taking body checks and fighting out of hockey...not the same game anymore. Please preserve and promote classical chess...hundreds of years should be cherished, not tampered with, or forgotten. cheers!

8:10 why do you want to trade the bishop for the knight? Is it because as you said it's gonna be weak or is that considered a closed position where knight > bishop?

I suppose the pawn structure prevents the bishop from getting behind them and capturing them... so for the bishop, it is pretty closed.
