about a year and a half ago i decided to stop removing my body hair because i was shamed for my hair in jr high by my "best friend" and it effected me so deeply that it contributed to me hating my body as a whole. so as an act of self love to myself, i stopped removing the body hair. it was hard at first and i did cave once and shave my pits. but... honestly... i wouldn't go back. i'm so happy now and sometimes other girls tell me they wish they could do that. i save money and time and also fucks to give. the need to remove body hair is a social construct and we have the power to change it... if we want. no judgement to people who do remove body hair. you do you. i'm just so much happier this way. plus my curly pit hairs are cute :P

This is why I choose not to shave, unless its absolutely necessary. It's such an inhumane process forced on women solely for the sake of upholding some stupid misconception about the human body and what it's "supposed" to look like, as well as gaining approval from those (mostly men) who have been brainwashed into thinking it's normal. Ava L I shave occassionally as well. As I said, it's almost inevitable in our culture if you don't want to be shunned, and having to face that kind of backlash is emotionally hard to do. I don't use nair however, because it burns my skin. I've met many other women who say the same thing. It's not fair that women have to deal with such harmful substances that can potentially injure them and risk their health just to uphold these unnatural beauty standards. I hate having to do that, and it's not fair that our society shuns women who do not put themselves through these potentially harmful processes. Unless we voice these concerns though, no one will know what we face every day to uphold such unnatural standards that society imposes on us. So it's good that now we are beginning to speak up.

Bruh I have so many hair removal horror stories D: Just to name two of my favourites: 1) This one time used nair on my upper lip cause I was in a rush and didn't have time to go into town and get it done so I left it on for like 5 minutes or whatever it says on the instructions. I rubbed a little corner off and the hair didn't come off so I thought I would leave it on for another 3 or so mins. After the time had passed I rubbed it all of with that sponge thing they give and sure enough my hair came off but so did mY SKIN. My skin had literally half dissolved so giant patches of my skin were missing and were bleeding so you can probably imagine how horrific it looked. Probably should have just left the hair on tbh cause it would have looked better :/ 2) This one time (again I was in a rush.. so you know this isn't gonna end well) and I needed to shave my legs. Didn't have time to shower and didn't have any of those self-waxing strips at home. I found this rusty old razor and thought that it would just have to do because there wasn't really another option so I just started DRY shaving with that old rusty razor. I was doing it so fast too and all of a sudden, I must have been holding the razor at an angle or something, but a whole slice of my skin just came off. Imagine peeling a carrot.. yeah.. my leg was the damn carrot. I was so disturbed because there was a literal slice of my skin on the floor and my bleeding half shaved leg didn't help. I had to change outfits in the end anyway because I was not about to go out wearing shorts with my legs looking like that. I was suuuuper late, my leg was in pain and I didn't even wear what I planned so that was juuuust great -_- Anyway, if I've learned anything from these experiences it's that us ladies shouldn't be so worried about going out with a bit of hair on us cause it's natural anyway. The guys do it and it doesn't bother them so why shouldn't we? Also another thing: never ever ever EVER do some random method of hair removal just because your'e in a rush, NOT worth it!

If you get a fully body wax, you'll need about three 20 count packs to wipe yourself down properly. The medication prevents those bumps from even forming. For the people on here who seem to think hair has lost its purpose; no it hasn't. Hair actually DOES have a role to play. Note, for example, the goosebumps you get when cold. That's your hair acting to warm you up. Secondly, hair in particular GIRLY parts of the body is actually very important for avoiding infections down there. When you take that hair off, not only are you unnecessarily irritating the skin but you're also making yourself twice as likely to get an infection. Especially considering the fact that most women don't clean down there properly, or clean too much. That hair covers up YOUR mistakes with personal hygiene. Now that dos not mean you can't live without that hair. If you decide to remove it, FINE. But do not lie and say it has no purpose whatsoever. Scientifically, it DOES have a purpose. If it did not evolution would not have kept it there.

I got my eyebrows waxed a while back, and my sister told me it didn't hurt to much. So the lady puts the wax on and I'm like "oh, this actually isn't that bad!" then she puts the strip on and rips it off, it felt like a mini hell on my face.

see! This is why I shave. My skin is really sensitive and soft, and I don't want it ruined by ripping a layer off and leaving it red for the whole week. I use a women's hair removal razor for my face and eyebrows (allergic to hair removal cream) and that's it. Waxing is not worth it. Well it does leave ur skin smooth and clean but for me, its not worth it! Especially for people with sensitive skinm

so I very recently started using hair removal creams and arosols like Nair and veet and the first time I used it it smelled like roadkill and my skin was burning a bit so what do I do? cover my entire body in coconut and argan oil to get rid of the smell. I understand getting a wax for your legs/armpits or your bikini area but getting your eyebrows done by someone??? you could just do it at home with tweezers ! and with a bit of practice, it doesn't hurt that much when you know what you are doing and you can do it as often as you want at home, without paying money :D and that satisfying feeling when you pull out the little hairs with the roots.... yes!

Yeah I see your point but it's easier just to go and get them done. For me I prefer to go and get them threaded because it's reasonably cheap where I go and I don't have time to tweeze. I try to keep up with my eyebrows after I get them done though.

I cannot do my own eyebrows. Period. It hurts soo damn bad. What I do is I use Sally Henson hair removal cream. And then I use tweezers to perfect ad get any hairs thee cream missed. They dont hurt as bad tweezing them after the cream. Or I get them, done with the string like she said she does. Threading! It hurts but its fast and looks nice, I just dont like to pay for it.

Just for the record, usually I'm quite of the tomboy, but I can clean up really nice. And I mean really nice, from the high heeled shoes up to the sparkly earrings and tight red dress and lipstick and whatnot. And somehow, the best nights I've had where those where I didn't plan what was going to happen, did not shave anything beforehand, probably didn't even have makeup on and ended up smelling of sweat and alcohol and had the greatest (and most satifying ;) ) nights of my life. Ease up, ladies. That shit don't matter when shit gets real. It's what you do and how you smile, that's what the gents see. They don't give a rat's arse about wherever your legs are shaved or not.

Not in my experience. I'm not saying you should go out without showering- everyone likes their partners smelling nice and pretty. But really, if you hit it off with a guy and he likes the way you move and you like his smile and he makes you laugh, if you shaved your legs will be the last thing on his mind. Or any other body parts, for that matter. After all, you probably wouldn't turn down a guy you really like just because he doesn't shave his chest, would you?

Ok I'm 13 and i started waxing in 6th grade (I'm in 7th). I stopped waxing a little after i turned 12 because shaving is quicker and not painful. I know it lasts like 6 hours but you can do it again and again. My mom is an esthetician (cosmetic person) and she hates that I shave now cuz she used to wax me. Also I get my eyebrows plucked and waxed and most of the time i pluck them myself and then my mom just waxes the unibrow. She also waxes my mustache but not the little dip in the middle for some reason that I forgot. I don't do anything to my arms unless I decide to go a little wild and shave cuz honestly no one in my school does anything to their arms. I literally left my whole entire cosmetic story here sorry but i hop this helped someone?
