While it can be used as a standalone book, this book is a companion to the Wayhome Tarot deck. From beginner FAQ's to the meanings behind the 78 cards of the Wayhome Tarot deck, this conversational, often times sassy book isn't one of my favorites to say the least.
My review of the Wayhome Tarot: • Wayhome Tarot (Deck Re...

Thanks for this review, very useful. It's very easy to end up with a lot of tarot guide books that come with decks, so I'm more picky now about buying them - I don't think this one will be on my wish list. A sassy yet informative book is The Easiest Way to Learn the Tarot Ever! by Dusty White. I was interested to hear you mention there was a section about crystals, altars etc. When I first got into tarot, all you needed was a cloth to keep your cards in. Now there seems to be an expectation that you'll be setting up a sacred space, decorating it for Instagram, smudging sage like crazy, buying more and more accessories...

That was me early on - ending up with a lot of decks. I’ve learned to be picky! I also thought crystals, altars, incense, etc. was all part of it when I first started. You really don’t need all of that unless you want it. Tarot is plenty for me 💚✨

Thanks for the review! I just ordered the deck today and I was thinking of getting the book until watching your video...😂 I have learnt RWS and Marseille from other books such as 78 degrees of wisdom and advanced tarot as such, if there is nothing about symbolism in the book, then I pass it. Thanks! 🙏

I loved the conversational aspect of the major arcana and the stories that the author shared. I think her sassy, witty up front modern approach is what attracted me to the book, I didn’t even know the book was specifically for a deck lol. But I do agree with you looking back on it now, she definitely could’ve gone more in depth in certain parts of the book and the court card descriptions were rather negative and very limiting. Great review! 👍🏽

Thanks for watching! I do like how authors like to bring in their own personal stories in the tarot meanings - very good to have for a beginner. I’m not sure what the process was in terms of writing the book while doing the deck. I would have liked to see how it all turned out if they were released together. Maybe things might have been different? 💚

Wow! The writing style for this book is extremely sarcastic (which I should like), it feels like the author wanted to modernize the Tarot with current pop language yet it came out mocking, or crass. Looking forward to more of your content!

Thanks Eddie! The writing style is intriguing and I think it’s because she wanted to appeal to the mass audience. Thanks for watching

It's interesting - personally, being reading tarot for the better part of 18 years, I honestly just love the book for it's no nonsense edge and direct approach. I can get what you mean, I know it's not necessarily as deep in some aspects as it could and it is heavily nuanced - however I feel it brings a honestly refreshing way of explaining things over a lot of tarot books that tend to either meander a lot for beginners to dive in meaningfully. Still, I do understand your opinion, even if I don't share it personally ^^; ALSO keep in mind it's the other way around: the book isn't the deck's guidebook, rather the deck was made as a companion to the book well after it was published.

Hey Manuel! Thank you for sharing your opinion. I appreciate it. I can definitely see how the book’s direct approach can be beneficial. I do dislike how some books beat around the bush. Thanks for letting me know about the deck being the companion to the book. I really love the deck 💚 thanks for watching and letting me know your thoughts

Thank you for this review, I thought it was just me. I tried a few times to read this book but found myself extremely bored by it. It just didn’t capture my attention and make me want to continue to read. Definitely wasn’t what I was expecting but hoping to find a new home for it soon. There is a lot of knowledge to be gained from the book for the right person, but not myself, unfortunately. ♊️💯❤️

Awww hopefully you can find a good home for it. It’s not a bad book - it has spots of great information. I think one read is good enough. Thanks for watching! Hope all is well 💚

I'm excited about the cussing and inky smell. I've seen this book around and didn't know it went with a specific deck. I would also want more info about that exact deck in a guidebook. I avoided getting the book because I thought the title seemed intentionally provocative, so it turned me off. I don't like the courts as mother/father/children, and I don't see any upright king as a broken person. And I don't like it when people assume that every tarot reader is also into astrology and crystals! I'm on the fence. Beautiful deck though!💜

I LOVE that this book’s paper is like magazine paper - and the smell 🥰 I think her approach on all of the cussing is to relate to all the youngins’ 🤣 the deck is gorgeous - I’m so happy I got it. 💚

@Six of Wands yes! I would never see him as a broken man. The court cards are already complicated enough for me, so this book didn’t help. But the deck is GORGEOUS 💚
