Anti-Venom feels bad because you have to wait until the next turn to benefit whereas Iron Lad and Jubilee give you instant effects. Anti-Venom needs to have less power and draw the discounted card on the same turn so you still get another draw.

100% this, mfs are gonna complain but it literally has the same effect of Iron Lad and Jubilee. If i remember correctly Jubilee is like a series 2 or 3 card. A series 2/3 card shouldnt outperform a series 5…. Id take him as a 4/4 or less honestly with drawing that card as its effect. Hell even Mr Negative has more of a benifit. Its the least this card can do. Edit: yes I know this card has a major upside of suprise factor, but suprise factor alone isnt saving this card.

I agree, but there's a bit more nuance to it. Iron Lad lets you use the same effect twice, like having two Iron Mans or two Darkhawks. Jubilee decreases your Deck size, increasing the odds of drawing your Turn 6 combo piece. Both can also be used on Turn 6 as an extra chance to "draw" that one card you reeeeeally need to win right now, while Anti-Venom's effect is dead on turn 6. They also don't get shafted by Mobius. I think people are undermining Anti's effect, but I also think he's usually riskier than his (somewhat comparable) counterpart. If Zabu was still a card, however, he would definitely be TERRIFYING, his potential is crazy.

I think it creates too many "feels bad" moments. You're encouraged to place cards in the deck that make excellent use out of Anti Venom, but then you draw those pieces early and it feels bad. Or you manage to hit an undesirable card and it feels bad. Or you draw it a turn too late to get value out of it and it feels bad. I think he's doomed to become a 1 energy/3 power card with the current effect, or he needs to draw the card he affects.

I've been having fun with the card but he's just not there. To be good he'd either have to draw the card or get punched down to a 3 cost and no way are either of those happening, we probs get a 4/8 in a couple of weeks and then he rots in the collection until he gets a new friend.

On my first game with Anti Venom, I played him down, ended the turn, and my game crashed. This wasn’t the card it just happens sometimes, but for whatever reason when I reconnected to the game his effect didn’t happen. I would have had a 0 cost Ultron but oh well. This has never happened but I thought it was funny for a first game. I do really like the card tho.

I feel like Second Dinner missed the target with this one. It should be a 3/5 card, it would be more useful and attractive. At 4 cost there are too many great options, and it's just too late in the game to play it and hope it benefits you with any consistency.

Climbed 10k post-Infinite with an Anti-Venom Galactus deck and then got 2 Infinite tickets in Conquest with an Anti-Venom Hela deck! I love getting a free Galactus, a free Alioth, a free Cannonball, or a free Blink and then reverting them to their original power with Cage or Shadow King or changing them with Sersi!

There's a Panther x Knull x Arnim negative deck I really love. That's 1000% where anti-venom belongs along with iron lad. Makes the deck a nice self contained archetype of its with some resident redundancy just like beast x toxin x falcon for bounce.

Actually legitimately disappointed that Toxin is better than Anti-Venom. As a much more popular character especially after the recent spider-man game I wish they had done Anti-Venom justice, being as impactful as Venom in a different way would have been cool. Could have been a solid Tech Card, since Anti-Venom changes the Venom suit so that it can be controlled by its owner. Being able to take control of an enemy card at its location could have been a cool On Reveal - Would put him on a similar level to Shang. Wouldn't have hated him being some sort of support to Shuri - The task master nerf kinda killed her best and only cube steal play. Its doable now with either Magik or Psylocke to enable Symb Spidey to reactivate Shuri for 4x boost on 5, skip 6 and have 40 power She-Hulk and Task on 7 but way too many things need to line up.

This card gives you a free card to use more strategically than ironlad or jubilee i think it needs to be 3/6 or 3/5 and draw the card you effect with anti venom because the risk of hitting a card you dont want or wont use is too high and turn 4 is too late to take the risk with better options in your hand already
