He just didn’t want to kill his own wolves with the weapon and the end which is why shen killed him and fired it himself. That’s why he says “ but sir, they are getting too close, we would kill our own”

@@renarddubois940 And that’s exactly what got him killed. He was loyal to Shen, but Shen wasn’t loyal to him. When he didn’t fire the cannon, Shen had no problem killing him and didn’t look like he felt remorse either.

It is not known if the wolf chief died or not, in the official website of Kung fu panda puts deceased (presumably) with which it is not known if he survived the attack of Lord Shen. In the OFFICIAL game of kung fu panda 2, it is centered after the death of Lord Shen and Boss Wolf comes out as head of the wolves and gorillas that survived the battle of gongmen city and are dedicated to plunder the inhabitants of the villages and Po with the help of the 5 furious they have to stop them. I do not know if this is invented just for the game but according to the official game, Chief Wolf survived the attack of Lord Shen and remained leader of his army. The director of the movie could clarify the status of our Wolf Boss

@@allengodkin2347 Shen wanted wolf boss to fire cannon but their army would also be hit by it, which was why Wolf Boss was hesitating. Shen doesn't care if the wolf army dies it something, but wolf boss cars for them, so he defied his orders. Because of that, it lead to his death (if he did die)
