Pete there are so very few people on this planet with the kind of spirit of giving and generosity as I've seen with you and Steven over the years on this channel!! I have been just blown away seeing the amazing diecast you've gifted Owen over the years and it just warms the heart brother, but it also brings me back, WAY back to me own childhood back in the 60's and 70's in Toronto where I was born!! I]m Cherokee, Scottish and Irish and I was adopted at 4 days old and my mother was born in England as was my father, they've both passed, dad served aboard the carrier HMS Illustrious during WWII and I just found out a couple of years ago that he transferred to the British Army after the war and became SAS!! He never spoke about his WWII service or his army service, and I only found out very little many years ago when my mother gave me three medals and showed me some of his military service items which he had tried to throw in the garbage, and did not know mom not only knew about these things he thought he had kept as his secret but she saw him throwing a couple of large boxes out early one morning and managed to pull some items out before they were scouped up and taken away to the dump including boxing trophies, an officer's log book, more medals and photos which we thrown away and just broke my heart! But I did get quite a few photos, and three medals. I learned about his SAS from an uncle in England just before he passed. ANyway, sorry I do tend to yak on about my parents they were the very best!! They bought me Corgi, Lesney, Matchbox and Dinky every Christmas, Easter and birthdays, as did my grandfather! When Hot Wheels came out they bought me everything that they could get hold of and I had a huge collection which I lost along with a few hundred mint vintage led soldiers my grandfather left me when we had a fire three days before Christmas one year! Broke my heart! I managed to start collecting again after I was married and had to retire from music, I was a lead rock vocalist/writer/rhythm guitar player, but I became seriously ill and had to retire, but I kept very happily busy collecting!! Of course my collection is peanuts compared to this young Truk O-Dog here, in part thanks to your generosity brother!!! LOL!! It does bring back great memories and really warms my heart seeing all these awesome diecast and just basking in your incredible, rare generosity!! THANK YOU!!! Seeing some of these models does bring back fantastic specific memories!! I love this channel, and O-Doggie is one of a kind and so knowledgeable and personable!! I really must get up and go to the Die-Cast shop in Orillia. I live not too far from Owen, just about 45 minutes South near Newmarket! Take care brother!! Jack ~'()'~

Wow what an amazing box! So many great pieces, I could go on forever... Quick note in regards to those tiny Mazdas: they are very desirable Kyosho castings sold in capsule vending machines in Japan, and now go for a pretty penny on the secondary market. Love those Yatming rigs, still have an all metal Kenworth from my childhood. Also love all the 90s era MBX, and of course the Tomicas. That Toyota Stout TLV is also a very desirable and pricey piece. Can't wait to see Pt. 2, enjoy your weekend and happy hunting!

The red Tomica in this video is a TL, the icon is shown in blue and red, these are the best Tomicas in my opinion, they have opening doors usually real tyres and great detail, a great type of Tomica to collect, if you can find them, thats quite a valuable car in its own right.

I don’t know where to start. What an amazing RAOK box! I love these old MBX cars, Yatming, Tomica, PlayArt etc some of the cars I remember from my childhood in the 80s and early 90s and others we bought at flee markets like the older Yatming, PlayArt and MBX cars with metal bases. I always wondered how or what you do with import and customs fee - especially when you receive ROAK boxes outside North America. I guess you have a trade deal with the neighbor’s down south so you don’t have to pay customs? But what about when you receive boxes from UK, Australia etc or other European countries? Or maybe you have a customs agreement within the Commonwealth? I always have to pay customs when I buy from eBay sellers outside EU - even if the stuff I buy is second hand or used diecast cars
@wtffor
@wtffor Жыл бұрын
I always end up paying customs (well 90% of the time - some parcels fly under the radar)... on anything shipped from outside of Canada. Canada collects customs as goods and service tax, as if it was a new purchase. It is really such a money grab, as Canadians are paying tax over and over and over again on old second hand items that have already been taxed previously, perhaps many times over.
@joakimhjelm-svennesen8984
@joakimhjelm-svennesen8984 Жыл бұрын
@@wtffor Thanks for the answer. eBay has a service where customs is supposed the be paid, but it only works if the a certain customs no is embedded in the barcode. If seller doesn’t provide that customs no electronically in the barcode (and only provide it on the address label manually), you still end up paying customs here in Denmark - even if you already paid customs and VAT on eBay

So O-Dawgie, I assume diecast are like guitars where certain brands such as "Cort" who build great guitars from budget to very expensive very high quality guitars and they also make several other different brands of guitars in their manufacturing plants. Also, China build dozens of different brands from "Gibson", who also own "Epiphone" and numerous other brands all in the same factories! China also copies these brands, cheeky buggers, without permission and sell them all over the world many with "Gibson" and a few of the other top brand names illegally on the guitars!! It comes down to finances and I imagine it's the same, or similar with diecast. There's also instances such as some Hot Wheels diecast which they bought from Corgi, so I have a few "Corgi" trucks with "Hot Wheels" labels on them, which I'm pretty certain you also have and I believe you even pointed that out on at least one of your videos. These are awesome videos, of course I'm watching them all!! Jack ~'()'~

O Dawg The brown Douwe Egberts truck is a coffee company & the brand name is on the bottom ( EF SI ) & the truck is a mercedes .Its a Dutch diecast brand mostly 1.64 scale & I've found a few here in ireland but never seen them on sale here at any time & I'm 48 now so I grab any I see .Those yatming trucks that you're trying to identify the one with the navajo indian trailer are a replica of an old majorette casting from the 70s with the silver grilles & the brand name of the trucks is a French make called ( Bernard ) & if you look closer you can see that the smallest side window is squarish but on the old 70s majorette casting the smallest side window is round & the 70s castings mostly have the old tri point wheels as I refer to them so I class those yatming as their go at old majorette & a lot of those yatming whites & kenworths are a rip off of old road champs which I have in a 20 truck set from 1986.Those old husky trucks pop up here from time to time but they were more a mid - late 60s brand & I never saw them on sale as a kid so I grab them if I come across them 👍👍
