Interesting little knife. I have been toying with the idea of going to fixed blade for edc but it is difficult to find something suitable, meaning small enough and still functional. Glad you made mention of running this as a neck knife and the weight considerations. Thank you for going over this one Mark!

I find small fixed bladed practical more and more. Maybe not out to a restaurant though😅. Thanks for commenting Steve

If ya like this one then you should have tested out thee original ATS-34 version which I have and love! Literally use the knife for everything- EDC, bushcrafting/wood processing, processing whitetail deer from woods to the freezer and ive never sharpened it not once in the years i have owned it! Vic nails his heat treatments and is able to get the most of whatever steels he uses to the point of only ever needing stropping maintenance after each use and never needing to actually be resharpened...

Right on. Almost had the ATS-34. Maybe the Bushcraft version Zeke is working on. Thanks for commenting

G'day Mark, another where you can see the thought in the design, mind you "Nomad" has become a well worn title, so much so that you've gotta ask ..... who's Nomad is it : ) Personally I am carrying small fixies more often, rather than folders for EDC, though I'd be pairing this one up with a bigger fella out in the woods. Blade shape, steel and sheath ... excellent and I do like a thumb ramp and/or jimping of some description. Incidentally; is it just me, or are there more and more "continuous sweep" designs these days ? Handle wise; I dig thick scales on a little fella and an extended pommel comes in handy quite often. With the contouring, yes thoughtful, and I like it aesthetically too, but I reckon it's one you'd want to actually hold in store before purchase. That'd be the deal maker or breaker IMO. Cheers Duke.

That is the hardest part of buying a knife. Being non-traditional, how do you know if you will like it without trying it. Thanks for commenting Duke

For a split second I was worried you were going to say the lanyard was for chopping 😀 Nice little knife. I’m gonna need a better job if you’re gonna keep showing stuff like this, but I don’t see many people using a fixed blade as an edc. Maybe a more convenient knife for the woods. Easier to carry, and most stuff doesn’t require a big blade

I think context is what determines carrying a fixed blade for EDC. I don't carry this going out in public in the city. People would panic. Thanks for commenting Jim

My number 1 issue with WTG knives is their availability..i want thisknife but cant find one to buy
@MarkYoungBushcraft11 ай бұрын
I understand. A buyer has to be aware (watch website) for when they go on sale and jump on them when they do. There are a few other sellers outside of WTG direct that may be better choices. Thanks for commenting

Can you give links for green strap and whatever lockup device?! I like that setup for some of my fixed blades without danglers. What holds your dangler setup to the sheath? Thx Mark ❤
@MarkYoungBushcraft Жыл бұрын
No link. It was a cast-off from an old pack. The clasp is sold as an attachment for Molle but I don't know what it is called. Thanks for commenting

I ended up making a better strap using a length of 1.5" nylon webbing. I folded a piece over and sewed two seams across when the straps n the sheath intersected. Simple and effective

is the blade length legal in Canada? I thought there was a prohibition for so many inches
@MarkYoungBushcraft Жыл бұрын
There is no defined legal length for knives in Canada. Legality is defined by the circumstances where and why a person is carrying on. Thanks for commenting

It looks good but living in Toronto I would not use it as a EDC, if I was living in a smaller town or city I might, but not in Toronto. I have got to the point where I don't even carry a folding knife, If I am going somewhere where I will need one I carry it in a shoulder bag of knapsack. Most of the time my EDC is a retractable boxcutter and a small multi tool.

Yes, context is important. I don't carry a fixed blade when I go to public places in the city because people would panic if I pulled it out to use. Thanks for commenting
