I feel like this album has the potential to become their best (in my opinion at least). While I prefer Plastic Beach, I have to admit Demon Days is still their best work but all 3 songs we've heard so far of The Static Channel (if that's its name) have been fantastic and definitely on DD level of quality (and I personally prefer the dark-funky vibes of TSC to DD's gritty vibe).

I LOVE this song, and the vocals sound great to me. I don't get people complaining about not being able to understand the vocals - that's a trademark of Gorillaz songs! Definitely my favorite track from Cracker Island so far.

Why does this sound better than the official studio track lmfao we really live in the worst timeline Edit: not to discredit this fan recreation. It's fantastic. But the ACTUAL TRACK by the band itself shouldn't be to a lower standard. I know for a fact I'm gonna be coming back to this version more than I will the official drop, even with the concert noise that's picked up. I'm hoping I'm just being dramatic and for whatever reason the snippet we got was ... Not the best example of the song, but I have my doubts.

@@TheinvisibleTV19 Naw absolutely not imo. It's the same singer who has been doing it and his vocals seem to be more or less the same. Most of this album suffers bad mixing, which is strike one for me. They took away one of my favorite elements of the song as well- in the live version near the end, Damon and the collaborator have kind of this back and forth, basically playing musical hot potato more or less. In this version, it was replaced with the collaborator soloing that bit for whatever reason, meanwhile Damon speaks nonsense a la Lake Zurich. It worked for Lake Zurich, it doesn't work so much here. That and the lack of Seye's delicious booming bass line is an absolute fucking crime. I really don't see how people can defend this track by saying it's better than the live version when there's no redeeming qualities, it takes away rather than adds or improves which is wildly disappointing.
