Couldn't agree more mate. I was introduced to these guys when I went to an Evanescence concert at least 15 years ago. At the concert they were handing out a free demo cd with a couple of Within Temptation's songs on it. As soon as I listen to it I was like "wow! These guys are awesome."

So, for DnD characters I tend to kind of base them around an inspiration from a song, or at least that's where I get most of my inspiration from. The character this song inspired was named Val, and she was a cultist trying to escape her past. She wanted to be free from their control, free to be herself but always found herself going back to them for help. Eventually, she beat them, breaking her ties to them forever and removing the control their god had over her. Val could finally be herself. When the game ended that day, I just started crying. I couldn't get those words outta my head. "I just want to be me" played over and over again... It was about a year and a half ago now that I started my transition. I dunno if the band will see this, it'll probably get drowned out but I just wanted to say thank you so much... Whenever I listen to this song, I know I made the right choice. Hell, for all I know, I've posted this already XD been a crazy few years.

I'm a fan since 1995, saw countless performances... and each time I'm in awe by Sharon's ability to be so wonderfully on key, even with the high notes. And yes, this does get more difficult with age (for men and women alike... although arguably people singing high notes are more susceptible to age). This only makes the compliment more meaningful.

I don't know if anyone has already commented this, but I was intrigued by the words that appear on the object, kind of a "basin" (I really don't know how to say that in English lol) and the letters that appear on her arm. I managed to recognize the words "Acedia" and "Superbia" and went to research, they are two of the deadly sins in Latin, sloth and pride. The other letters that appear on her arm also match the other sins in Latin (Superbia, Avaritia, Luxuria, Invidia, Gula, Ira, Acedia). I loved the detail of putting it in the music video, which gives an even deeper meaning to the song and the video. Within never disappoints

Really have been obsessed with this new track. With each listen I find some new element incorporated into it that I absolutely love and makes me appreciate the song that much more. Sharon really captured the emotions in this song and the cinematic aspect of the overall production really stand out to me. I think my favorite part of the track, for some reason, is in the beginning when Sharon emotionally yells "I can't see." It's beautiful and really sets the tone for this masterpiece of a song. This is better than their first single from whatever they are going to call this new album but it is still no where near the songwriting of past material. They are too generic sounding with their music since Hydra meaning that they sound way too much like listening to what the mainstream radio stations play for rock radio. Within Temptation use to have their own unique style of metal, whether it was with that gothic and dark mix from Enter or with their symphonic metal mixes in their music with their albums in the 1st decade of the 2000s.
