Yes, Asia is so very convenient when compared to the western countries . My friends and I (living in Hong Kong) always say that it is very difficult for the western expatriates to go back to their home countries after their overseas postings (in Asia) as : (1) their will not have maids to help them in their housework (cleaning & stuff) and in taking care of their young children, (2) drivers to bring their wives around town, (3) supermarkets and 7-elevens in close proximity to where they live, and (4) if they like to eat vegetables, western markets may not have as much a variety of green leafy vegetables as in Asia countries ... especially in Asian countries such as HK, Taiwan, China.

I would disagree, many things in Europe (the Western countries I know) are far more convenient than in Asia. I live in Finland and in cities there are grocery stores everywhere, you can walk everywhere but also have very convenient and fast public transportation (therefore don't need drivers), also we don't need to drive our "wives" anywhere because everyone lives idependently and mostly people do things together as a couple. Also we spend far less time at work every day, therefore don't need a maid (house work for most people is not that much of a burden actually). Food is definitely more plentiful (and cheap) in Asia, but when it comes to fresh air, walking/cycling, proximity to nature, free and well equipped libraries, standards of public sports facilities and swimming halls, education etc - it's way more accessible here than in the countries I've been to in Asia (Taiwan and Malaysia).

@@gaomei7648 I am citing an example of expatriates and expat wives. Surely, it is human nature that once they enjoyed the "perks" (such as maids , drivers, etc) , it will be quite difficult for them to adjust back to the lives in their home country. Also, it is only in the cities (as you said) where grocery stores are nearby / easily accessible. And, living in the city must be quite costly too. Besides, eating out in restaurants must be costly in Europe and in the States whereas eating / dining out in restaurants or eateries in Asia is much cheaper ... at times, it is cheaper to eat out in Asia countries such as Hong Kong, China , Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, etc .. then to cook at home. FYI, I spent some time in Rennes, France and as we were not living in the city / city area, we have to drive out to a supermarket to buy food. We have to travel out to the city to eat at restaurants and to shop.
