WTVJ 1997 New Set Launch

This was the last new set in the 316 N. Miami Ave building before the move to Miramar. This debut is from March, 1997 and they were very proud of the weather center. As Bryan Norcross can attest the old weather center was much more of a nook.

NBC Miami last new set in the 316 N. Miami Ave building before the move to Miramar which also debut new graphics & music. at same time WPLG debut then-new logo which was short lived & graphics from that period music remained the same.

The set alright, they had a big sports wall or monitor try or wall with the newsroom set they had before also on the side. Think the logo in the back of the anchors with the sorta dimensional look was good looking Art Deco miami like. The weather center is nice looking a big enclosed kinda like today weather set (Not including today’s WTVJ weather center). But yeah it would be much better than the set they had when they moved into Miramar ahh that set sucked!!! Look cheap and bland and that weather monitor sorta green thick look like a monitor wall space green space you’d see in Times Square or in Outer Space.
