Yes you are right. Yang Yang is the best Qi Ling, as for Wu Xie i haven't found the right Wu Xie until now. Yang Yang and Yi Long would be a perfect cp as Qi Ling and Wu Xie... But too bad it's only a dream 😭

Wu Xie and Qiling are canon? I barely know anything about the story but I want to read it -for Zhu Yilong- so when I watch the drama I know at least something about it. Could anyone tell me where to start?

First of all I recommend you to read the books, there are 6 of them translated in english. They are so addictive, once i started reading them, i couldn't put them down. Wu Xie and Qi Ling do grave-robbing together. Qiling is a mysterious guy who wants to find out his true identity and therefore goes for grave-robbing. You can watch "The Lost Tomb", which is based on the first book. "Sand Sea" came out this year and is adapted from another books by the same author, the action takes place several years after the original story ends. There is also "The Mystic Nine" which is a prequel. Next year there will be "The Lost Tomb" season 2 based on books 2-3 and also "Tomb Notes Restart" with Zhu Yi Long, which will take place ten years after the story ends... The story is not bl like Guardian, but Wu Xie and Qiling do share a very special relationship. The author himself wrote this from Qinling's perspective: “Using my whole life in exchange for a decade of your innocence.”

The story is interesting but the writing, acting and the effects I am not sure in. I am most interested in the books and I think I will start to read them! So Yilong's drama will not be based on any books but will be a prologue like story? Do I understand it right?

@Chadult As always live actions can't live up to the novels they're based on. I like TLT but i was quite disappointed with all the changes they made. Restart will be based on another book. The 9th book (which still isn't translated) ends how Qiling disappears behind the Bronze Doors. I think in Restart the story will be ten years after this happens. Btw since i'm a big fan of the books, i must tell you that if you read them and you like them as much as i did, the author has another series translated in english, i just read them recently and i was blown away by his creativity.

If you're asking about where to start with The Lost Tomb, every season can be watched separately. Right now the new TLT with Zhu Yi Long is airing and it's amazing, you won't have problems understanding the story even if you know nothing about it.
