I bought a few new flashlights recently and wanted to share the unboxing and my thoughts on them all. I was obsessed with torches some years ago and just started to get back into them. After reading some reviews, I did some searching on Amazon and found these:

I also pull out some of my old torches from 8+ years ago and compare them to what's available now... boy I was shocked at how efficient and bright these emitters are now. It seems like the torch bodies are getting smaller as they produce less heat and more light?

Been very happy with the C2, it can use 21700 or 18650s, throw is really good, and battery bank function makes it a great camping light or emergency situation. Find it on sale for under $45 US all the time, a steal for 2000 lumen turbo and 1200 high settings. Compared to Olight or Fenix, the price/performance is fantastic.

Hey Mark, the C2 is a great light for what you pay, I like the bonus powerbank function :D wish it had longer sustained lumens on turbo though. It can handle it but dunno why the driver steps down so fast.

My parents have no idea why I'm in love with flashlight, i still have my photos holding Phillips 2 X D battery when i was 5 years old. Since then i buy anything that illuminates, from a "Frog" Light to cute "pig" haha.. then more than 15 years ago i got the first professional flashlight, Maglite! The first and the most expensive i ever bought for a flashlight, Maglite 5D battery. Flashlight for me (or us maybe) it's not just a tool, i feel safe for having a flashlight around me everywhere. Hi Chris thanks for sharing, I completely get where you're coming from haha. I was about 18 when I started and living with my parents, they thought I'd gone crazy as I had over 50 flashlights and new ones kept arriving in the mail 😂 I stopped collecting for quite a few years actually and only started again this year, after I bought a sofirn light and got hooked again. Making KZbin videos and content about them makes it more worthwhile too, as you can meet people and learn things. Rather than it being a solo hobby.

I remember being fascinated as a kid with flashlights I would always take a torch, my first one was a kids toy light as I got older it was a halogen bulbs as a kid I wanted a fluorescent lights Kinda weird as I only remember one blackout as a kid on Christmas day, and I don't remember being stranded in the dark, so I don't know why I have a draw full of flashlights like I do In the Philippines it makes perfect sense but never where I lived I barely see wind strong enough to rattle the gate

Yes, I saw the Wuben as it was clickbait on Amazon just today. But I know as of September '22 both the C3 & C2 are AU$9 more than your quoted prices. Maybe Amazon heard you and it reminded them that this is Australia and we love to pay way more than any other country for our toys so best up the price! Something they do regularly, especially on US stuff. Off topic but take for example the Metabo 1/4" air stapler US Amazon $64 - AU Amazon $147. Bit of a hike there we would all agree? I'm looking at the C2 for my brother's Xmas pressy. He will be mightily impressed with it's power and decent "on" time plus it can recharge a phone when he's trekking around Oz. Hi Jed, oh that sucks. It was on sale, along with the C3 when I bought both. The USD/AUD exchange rate is pretty crap for us at the moment too. If you wait a little bit, they'll probably run another sale - still loads of time until Christmas. Thanks for tuning in mate.

Can confirm c3 is bad ass and that strobe on c3 will definitely make someone disoriented at night especially close

@@andraskovacs5247 C3 is much more portable but it's a simple light and doesn't throw very far. If you need power bank functionality, C2 is better. Also much brighter.

I'd recommend the C2 over the C3, brighter, better battery life, can function as a power bank. The SST40 can produce about 2000 lumens. Thought I've found the C2 ramps down quickly in less than a minute on turbo. Common on high draw lights, as the LED can burn out.

@@JimmyMerchant sure, I'll put that on my list of videos to make. I'd go the SP35 over the C2 if you don't need power bank functionality. SP35 has better sustained output/driver, lighter and there are more options in the UI (ramped/step mode).
