Mr Hooks pitch, tone, and slight accent was so relaxing-pure asmr. However, the realities of his life were too difficult, I wasn’t able to zone out-which was my original purpose for seeking this interview. Anyway-I appreciate this interview series, thank you.

Someone took down the edited version of this for asmr without the interviewer. In my opinion this was the most effective unintentional asmr video out there.

Could it be possible that the archivists recorded his name incorrectly? He states the shipyard referred to him as "Louis Napoleon Van Hook" - which suggests his correct name isn't Lewis, but rather that he was named after Napoleon III. That would have been an interesting thing to ask him about, if the interviewer had actually been paying attention.

I was thinking the same thing. I think Napoleon III is a bit of a deep cut for many of us in the States… But I would love to know why a farmer in rural Arkansas would name his kid after him!

The interview could not be more annoying with the constant interruptions and directions. Let the man tell his story and keep out of the way.
