I finally got my HD01, and to my surprise the internal components rattle around inside. It makes the light feel cheap and fragile. Has anyone else experienced this?

no, that is a defect. Mine is rock solid, no rattle.

So I took it apart, and it looks like they originally used a dab of silicone to keep the battery pack in place. Easy fix.

@@wearandtear6692 I just took the 3 screws out of the pocket clip and gently pried out the back - it's setup like a plug, with the magnet inside and a pair of rubber feet glued on under the battery pack.

Disposable e-waste. 18650 / 21650 or it didn't happen!

I prefer such batteries (i.e. 2x14500) but even with a LiPo it is not bad if you keep using the light often. We accept LiPo in many devices where it is hard or impossible to ever exchange them.
