Nice job Marcus! TD04 looks like the real deal. Have the TD02 and the TD03 and do like both. I am completely in love with the FC12. Have one of the ramping and 2 of the newer tactical ui models. I like the simplicity of the 02 for basic light. I think the 03 should have had the FC12 tactical ui. Can't understand why no moon mode on TD03. Maybe finally have it all on TDO4. I just don't need another 21700 tactical light right now. To me the FC12 is the perfect 18650 and prefer it to my much more expensive Klarus, Fenix, and Nitecore tac lights.

Hi there, thank you for watching! The TD04 has the same UI like the FC12v2: Pressing the side switch and then the tailswitch triggers a very low mode (although I would not consider it a true moon mode, still too bright). I have no TD03 right now, the UI seems interesting to me. As for the FC12: I'm on my third one. The original developed a problem with charging and the silicone flap broke. I left it in the US with my mother in-law as it still works well. The second one (in green) I gave to a friend and now I have a gunmetal grey V2 that will stay with me ;-)

Wurkkos missed the tactical train with the td03 ui. It's horrendous honestly. The tailcap button only activates strobe but that's not only the only bad thing about it, also has a huge delay to turn strobe on from when you're actually pressing it. It is almost a hole second delay. What they should have done is put a rubber mechanical forward tail clicky switch in there instead of the e-switch and only turn on turbo when in tactical mode. in daily mode half press it to cycle through eco-low-med-high-turbo and add a quick double press for turbo at any given output. Strobe i don't care about it that much, but they can easily add that to one of the 3 positions of the rotating ring. Think about it like that: If you have it currently in the off position of the rotary ring, the light should just turn on at turbo only with a forward clicky to also have momentary for signaling purposes, on the second position of the rotating ring while turning it anti-clockwise as is put the daily mode in there and also add an eco mode while you're at it. And on the third and last position of the rotating ring, meaning full turn anticlockwise leave it only to strobe. That's it. You got the perfect tactical/edc light if Wurkkos was to incorporate those changes to the ui. You set that daily mode to eco for example(with memory) and this light would have one way access to everything a tactical light needs, which is moonlight(eco)m turbo and strobe with one movement

With your bear pranks you need a larger light anyways. You have all the advantages of a larger cell and the size is still easy on you ;-)

I dont know the SP35T. Visually I would go with the TD04.

I use a SOFIRN SP35T it's better than TD04 in my opinion, as for FC12 V2 I use the short tube & an 18350 battery to make it more compact but light output is the same. 1200 mah battery is enough for my needs.

I think I’m stuck deciding between these two. Mostly needed for a suburban environment with emergency power outage and self defense situations in mind.

The TD04 just offers much longer runtimes. If a bit more bulk is no problem I would tend to suggest it for your use case. I use it right now on a 12h night shift. I tend to grab the FC12 during the day for little trips to the cellar and so on.

@@wearandtear6692 Thanks! I just placed my order. I do like the fact it has a 5000 mAh battery and the protective spikes on the front of it. The more focused beam of the fc12 just seems cool, but less practical for my intended usage.
