How can I add more power to my rotations? When I try to pre-requisite to making a jump or spinning myself in the air, I can only do one full turn and that's it. What can I do to improve that?
@mryoda10 жыл бұрын
Justine A Well, if you can´t add more rotations can be due to three things. 1) Jumping power (how high you jump), 2) technique, and 3) body mass (the less body fat or body mass you have in the air the better). If you want to improve your jumps you can do ¨plyometrics¨, specially depth jumps. You could start with 4 sets of 8 reps with 3 minutes of rest in between every other day 2 or 3 times per week. In this video I went over technique for twisting so just follow, keep your body tight in the air ;) ! and lastly, try to loose as much as body fat or body mass as possibly (I might sound crazy) , its hard but It definitely helps while twisting. I hope that helps :)

You're welcome! Sorry but I can't land 720 tkbl anyomore, I used to though, but not anymore and I land short. But same principles apply, Basically kick up and down as fast as you can, stay straight and thigh in the air. Having a great vertical jump helps a lot and very little body fat! the last two are the ones that kill me though :P !! good luck ! let me know if you can land them! jiayo!

Pistol squats and calf raises help to increase jumping height of single leg

Very great tips! Thank you! Any tips for the 720 tkbl that you might be able to share as well?

Those are some great drills, I'm going to try them at the gym today. I am trying to learn how to do a tornado kick and land on both feet (not at 720 yet) I have seen a slow motion video of my kick and I see that I am slapping my kick almost as I have already landed with my other leg. Maybe I need to kick sooner? Or faster?? I am going to work on more jumping drills as well. Keep up the great work Sam!!

Hi. I have heard that people injure their knee when trying to land in horse stance during this move. any tips or things to expect or be aware of to minimise the risk? Does injury tend to happen when you land at an angle and not totally straight?
@mryoda11 жыл бұрын
Most injuries are due to chronic conditions. Having bad mechanics obviously increases the risk of injury. I tend to twist in an angle sometimes, but I yes, having a good strength and conditioning base along with proper mechanics will help to minimize any risk of injury

When doing the tornado 720, should you consciously think about jumping upwards?
@mryoda2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you should always aim for vertical . However, single leg take off has a natural axis tilt, whereas, double leg take off is easier to stay vertical
