I love your lotus kick. It's beautiful as you are XD One time at the park where me and my friends were exercising. I was doing some air kicks and I did the lotus kick which one my friends really liked as he asked me to teach him. So, I did but he still couldn't do it even though he can jump off to kick straight up. I spent close to 30 or 40 minute teaching him step by step but we still got nowhere LOL Only he got the foot work movement.

why lift your hips up when jumping? it makes your torso horizontal in the air. i understand that’s the wushu style. what is the benefit of that? for instance, is it used for a stronger rotational momentum? i usually try to keep my torso straight and vertical, as a habit from lion dance training. but now i wonder if that is even necessary... i think i would also enjoy other variants of this kick .

This isn't the real lotus kick.. This is Tengkong waipai jiao. Here you take a momentum with your another leg but you wouldn't, this another kick..you would jump with even foot.. the other videos in the youtube everybody does it how i said.. (sorry for my bad english)
