Chen Sing, is a great actor. There is one movie where he plays a fugitive who always combs his hair when he gets attacked. He is good at playing both sides good or vilain. Charismatic, even when he plays the bad guy you can't entirely hate him because he always seem to radiate a lot of positive energy.

Lee Shan is accused of a murder & as Cool Head investigates but there is a "cult group" constantly trying to kill him. Plenty of knives, darts, sword play and kung fu. Chamberlain Woo Tai (C Sing) is the wild card in all this. Sho Fung (Chia) and Cool Head are both friends and enemies all thru out. Many commenters highly like this movie yet some compare it to 1st Iron Monkey film. It is a separate movie with a lot of different cast members and stands on it own either way. Chen Kuan Tai does quite a lot of fighting to say the least. Add this to description and have purposely tried not to give to much detail away.

I read some of these comments and i was surprised no one mentioned one disappointing this movie was. I was expecting "iron monkey style" to defeat "iron finger style" or at least see the monkey style defeating tiger style. In the end, clueless gets beaten and uses a weapon and then cuts off his hands. Sad. I was expecting better. This is not really Iron Monkey. The title should be some like, "The fist of Coolhead" or some other name.

That's a definite yes. Satisfaction at the end. Great acting by Chen Sing too on the end fight. I was hoping for them to finally use weapons in a room full of them. This must be the only movie were the hero uses hook sabers in such a decisive way. Chia Ling and Chen Kuan Tai chemistry was well acted. To the point that i think they quite like each other.

This film is a pseudo sequel to the original Iron Monkey (1977) which is in its own right a kung fu classic. This film isn't nearly as captivating or cohesive as the original & it's filled with more plot holes & cliches than you could possibly imagine. If you're a fan of old school kung fu flicks & you're willing to turn your brain off for an hour and 40 minutes then this should be somewhat enjoyable for you. On a positive note, there are countless fight scenes, interesting sets, props & cliche characters galore. Although this film doesn't live up to the original or to its own potential, it can still be somewhat enjoyable for fans of the genre.

Thats far from being a pseudo sequel, which really is just your made up word. 😂 It didnt have modern American production or any of the other traits you are comparing it to so "brainpower" is not necessary. @@PostPatriot You're being unfair to Count Yorga. His evaluation is quite correct. It's close to mine. Iron Monkey was directed and starred both by Chen Kuan Tai whereas this is a different director. Iron monkey was extremely well put together, the suspense and storyline and action evolution of the movie being near perfection. It is a masterpiece. this movie is a good job, worth watching but not a masterpiece. But it brings an attractive female Chia Ling which Iron monkey lacks. I would say Iron monkey is best for kung fu fanatic men. Whereas this one is more of an entertainment movie. The plot suffers from too many cliches at every step and unfolds in cruise mode. The movie is carried mostly by the chemistry between the lead couple and Chen Sing brings the energy it needed at the end. Chen Kuan Tai does a good job but isn't too impressive for once in fights comparing to his other movies. However he is an excellent actor.
