I fondly remember getting this cache. It was a lot of fun solving the puzzle. I will build a similar cache and deploy it here in Maryland. West Virginia Tim, thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks Tim, this one got me when we visited for GW13, glad to see how it works. I will see if I can do something similar in my neck of the woods.

Once I got your email, I just had to watch this video right away! :) Love what you have done with the concept, and very well explained / build! We have completed two more caches in the last few months, maybe I should try and post something on KZbin myself too! Will share the ideas with you soon anyway! Can't wait till your next video of your new series! Father and friend

Looks really cool! Great instructions! How does the marble and little door get reset for the next cacher? Maybe the ball stays contained?

+Ruben Monsterman Thanks, hopefully I'll have and easy to build gadget video coming out next week.

Great video! In efforts of lining the holes back up with ease, I would poke the tools through the wood and into a high and low spot on the pipe to realign it, then tighten it down with the tools still inserted. It shouldnt shift that way. Winter is on its way.. I may take a shot at this one in the coming months myself!

Hi this looks really good we don’t have much like this in the U.K. can I ask if you remember or not the holes how far apart did you do them please ?
@gadgetcaches3 жыл бұрын
No, sorry, I just played around with a rough design until I found a design that worked. They are pretty close together.

I would love to come up with a concept with you. Our area is seriously lacking fun unique caches. I seem to be the only one who makes any sort of an attempt at making unique or gadget caches. I have one similar to this one. It's just a camo'd pvc pipe with the cache at the bottom of it and loose nails right above the cache. The geocacher must bring a magnet to retrieve the nails and then use the nails just like you did, to get the log. I also love when I get favorite points. I want the most favorited Geocache in my city, that's for sure.

Great idea. Keep those ideas coming. Sounds like your on your way to being a great cache creator.

gadgetcaches thank you! I'm doing my best. My city is full of generic micros. I want to raise that Geocache bar. It's incredibly important to me. I'm also highly interested in creating difficult EarthCaches. I own 10 now and am working on my 11th and 12th. Two of my current ones involve actual scientific testing. My most difficult and in depth EarthCache takes at least three days to complete because it takes multiple visits to carry out the salinity tests, which I give two options on how to do said tests for one of the logging requirements. I truly look up to you, Tim. You're my geocaching hero! Please keep up the good work!

I was wondering if cachers take or accidentally take the metal wires? If so how often, I live in a less traveled area, but I'd hate to have to check a lot (because if they don't have the wires they're not going to figure it out)
@gadgetcaches7 жыл бұрын
I have a couple caches that use wires like those. Maybe once a year at the most, someone walks off with them, but it happens very seldom. If you work hard to put out a good cache, I find cachers are usually very careful with my caches.

Hmm.. I want to try this, but with a metal ball bearing and magnets.. That looks irritating using the Allen keys to move the ball.. Love the idea though

Oh yes, What a nice cache again. I'm going to make a simular cache in the Netherlands. A small trial with this one, the other marble-cache and then another Bonus, also with a marble.I will send you a message with pictures on GC.com when they are ready. Thank you for sharing! Patrick
