That was my favorite moment of the season so far. The thing with Devries that I’ve noticed is that he times things well. Getting his guys to calm down, he does it. Calling timeouts at the right time, he does it. Needs to hype his guys up? This happens and you had an arena full of people ready to run thru a brick wall. My speculation is that he is super calculated in everything he does, and he has a great finger on the pulse of the game. He knows when to do what, and is super self aware of how his coaching is perceived by the players. Again, that’s speculation but given how he’s managed games so far, I’ve seen too many examples to just think it’s an accident. I think that’s probably why he hasn’t gotten a tech. He’s got a good feel for what’s too far.

These annoucers spend way too much time talking about peripheral things and personal views instead of calling the game. I want to know who has the ball, wholes passing t6o, who is defending, you know, there game. I don't care what interests the announcer. If you are bored with calling the game, get another job.
