WVU is NOT going to the playoffs if we win out. We lost a game we needed to play against NC State and EVERY Big XII that was ranked lost yesterday against non-ranked teams save OU. We dont play anyone other then OU. We are going to be screwed if we win out.

No... If - IF - WVU is undefeated they would own wins over several ranked teams and very possibly a 2-game sweep of Oklahoma. (Regular season AND Big 12 title game...) If WVU is UNDEFEATED there wouldn't be a problem. Where the absence of the NC State game DOES hurt is in the - more likely - event that WVU winds up as a one-loss team. Then, YES, we would likely lose out vs other one-loss teams in vying for a CFP spot. When TCU and Baylor were snubbed for a CFP spot they were both one-loss teams, complicated by the fact that TCU had played a tougher schedule, but Baylor had won the head-to-head match-up. Separate issue, but even calling the current system a "playoff" is a joke. It's just a glorified And-1, with one game added after the seeded bowl games. If they would just cut the crap and go to eight teams, THEN it would be a real playoff. With an eight team field they could have an automatic bid for the champion of each Power Five league, plus three at large bids.

Texas Tech is now ranked 25th, so we'll at least have one road win over a ranked opponent, plus the Big12 Championship Game?. No way they'll keep an undefeated Big12 champ out of the playoffs. With that being said, there is a .000001% chance we win out.

Jim Bob No it didn't count as a loss. He misspoke. The game couldn't be played due to the hurricane. It would be a loss if we just decided not to play. It was physically impossible to play. He means it was a lost chance of getting a big time road win 😎🤘
